Big Thank You and Airtran ?

A big, big Thank You to everyone who posts here. Thanks to this board I found out about the 25.00 coupon on Airtran, I learned I could save even more by booking one way instead of R/T and I learned that I could save the cost of picking my seats by using kayak. Because of those little bits of info I saved $150+ on my airfare.

We are a family of 3 and our R/T non stop flights from Indy to Orlando was only 343.80-THANK YOU! I have paid that for just ONE R/T ticket in the past. YOU GUYS ROCK!

I have flown Airtran once and my flights were not changed, they were non stop. My question is does Airtran usually leave the non stop flights the way they are? And if the plane looks to be almost full (by looking at their site) would they change that flight? I'm asking because I like my flight there, but we are taking a very early flight home. If they change the times, we might be able to get the later flight I'd like-- is that right?

AirTran can, and frequently does, change the schedule for a lot of flights, non-stops included. At times they outright cancel flights. I suggest you keep a close eye on their schedule right up until your trip. They normally e-mail regarding changes, but those e-mails go out way after the schedule changes have been made.

My non-stop flight home changed several times! I had booked it before the coupons came out so I called and cancelled the flight and rebooked for $100 less!

Since then the flight has been pushed back 2 hours! So - yes - they do change non-stop flights and you might get lucky!!

This promotion has been awesome - my whole family is going on a cruise in November and with the promotion and Kayak - I figured out that we saved around $700!!

Our non-stop flight down (tomorrow!!!) changed 3 times and resulted in us leaving about 2 hours later than originally booked. Anytime the time changed significantly I received an email alerting me and actually asking me to confirm I would accept the change. It wasn't a big deal in our case.

I have been checking our flight home daily for that much wanted change. Last night I checked before going to bed-no change. Checked this morning and there was a 5 minute change. I had no email for this change

I knew what flight I wanted, made the phone call and was told no seats on that flight. I very nicely told the guy that I saw seats for that flight online, he checked again and made the change for me. I got my email confirmation for the new flight about 5 minutes later.

This really really saved my tooshie, DH and DS were not looking forward to getting up at 4AM after a week at Disney for an 8AM flight. We now get to spend most of the day at Disney since our new flight is now leaving out at 6:57 PM, at least for now

The emails are not always instantaneous - I find that they take a couple of weeks and usually don't send them for 5 minute changes
