I did post our intro a while ago but Have not been able to get to the boards to post so here is a recap....

Trip booked for April 26-May 3rd
6 people going. 4 adults, 2 children.

Grandma and Grandpa
Mom and Dad
Daughter(10) and Son(8)

Everyone is a newbie for WDW. Grandma, Grandpa and Mom have been to disneyland in 1985.

AND YES it is snowing here! I can barely see the house behind us. It is a miserable but typical spring day in Manitoba, Canada! So instead of going out and dealing with the weather I thought I would imerse myself in the joy of planning and sharing.

So the plans so far....

The flight is booked. this will be the first time flying for either of the children. My son is excited to fly, my Daughter is unsure. (any ideas to help anxiety?)

We are staying in a Condo about 10 minutes away.

We are rented a vehicle.

We have bought our tickets. We have a 6 day pass for the parks but no park hopper option.

Last week I made our ADR's.
Sunday - MK, Lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern
Monday - MK, dinner at tony's town Square
Tuesday - AK, Lunch at Rain forest Cafe
Wednesday - MGM, no ADR
Thursday - Epcott, Dinner at Nine Dragons
Friday - ???? Don't know which park, no ADR

I am planning on telling the kids tonight. I just finished creating a countdown calendar for them. Nothing real fancy but should help with the endless question... How many more days now mom? :)

I ordered the "Guide to the Magic" books for the kids. They should come this week. I want to wrap them up and gift them to each child.

I am planning on doing a gift a week until we leave. Other than the books it will be small stuff. Things for the plane. I have a Mickey Necklace for my dd. Maybe some type of stuffed animal from the Disney store. I wanted to get them some Disney dollars but I can't get them in Canada anymore. :sad2:

Not sure how to post pictures, but if I figure it out I will share them tomorrow. can't wait to see their faces tonight!

I posted this awhile back, thought I would repost it

Here are my intros:

ME I am the musical nut. :rolleyes1 I play piano, am working on my degree, teach privately and just added Kindermusik to my list of credentials. I went to Disney land at age 12

Hubby: Computer genius.:surfweb: Love of my life. and best daddy in the world! He is in need of a break and hanging with Disney characters seems to be just the ticket. Though I don't know that he would say that. This will be his first time to any disney park, and really to any theme park of any type.

My dh and I have on minor thing about us that may make WDW an interesting experience. We are vegan. For those that don't know what this is, it means we don't eat anything that comes from an animal, no milk, no eggs, no fish, no meat no casein etc.

Daughter: My dd is 10. :magnify: This is the first time for her. She is not really into the princess thing, though she is looking forward to seeing sleeping beauty. she is a science nut! She loves inventions and space. She is beside herself in excitement at the thought of going to Epcot. She also loves learning about new cultures, so Epcott will be HER place to be.

Son: My ds is 8. :chewy: This will be his first time as well. He loves roller coasters and is a huge starwars fan! For him MGM will be the highlight. That an any type of roller coaster. The one he talks about most right now is Everest. :woohoo:

My mom and dad: my loving parents are going with us. Actually they are paying for most of the trip. My dad is retiring this year and is going on a 10 week bike tour this summer, traveling from the West coast to the East coast. My mom still works but loves to hang with the grandchildren and is hoping to retire this fall.

I hear ya on the snow storm front:rotfl2: It's supposed to get here on Friday.

I think its great your family is sharing the WDW experience. We have tried to et my parents to accompany us the last two trips and my dad always says he has no interest in Disney.:scared1: I know-hard to believe I'm his some days.

Look forward to reading more.

Traveling with my parents should be exciting....:lmao:

My mom and I get along well. We hang out often and think alike. We are both mega planners but I am more flexable inside the schedule than she is. She has promised to relax and let things be once we get there. We have been getting together weekly to plan for this trip since January. :)

My dad and I are another story. He and I don't get along real well and he can be very critical and negative towards me. My response is usually to either yell back or do something .... well, ok.... childish back at him  I admit that I am not the most mature when it comes to dealing with him at times. I figure either we will get along great.... and I will barely talk to him.... or we will be mad at each other.... and I will barely talk to him..... either way works for me! :rolleyes1
There is a lot of nasty history between my dad and I ... and my husband and my dad so it is not always the easiest to keep my cool. He really knows how to push my buttons.... ok, ok, I'm not going to stress about this :) I figure I will just go on all the rides that he does not go on and all should be fine.

Thankfully he is pretty good with the kids. Not as great as my mom but has definitely improved over the years. I had no contact with him for a number of years and part of the stipulation for being part of my life again was that he had to treat my kids with respect... no down talking to them.

See, my parents got divorced 10 years ago. Lots and lots of nasty history between them and between me and them. Then 2 years ago they announced that they were getting back together and they ended up getting married again.... Now how often does that happen?! :dance3: I am happy for them. They are happy and have worked through their many issues, it would just be nice if my dad and I could work through some of ours.... oh well, maybe someday.

So traveling with them will be an experience. I am praying a good one! :thumbsup2

PS - I'm sorry the bad weather is heading your way! Gotta love Canada in the spring!
