I HAD adr's for lecellier at 7:30 pm cancelled because dh said we ate their before however, we always had lunch their NOT dinner. So i read many posts here and decided to resechedule lecellier and of course 7:30 was taken so now we have 8:40:mad: . Yes, i have been calling everyday sometimes 2 x's a day I even have another day where we would be eating at san angel inn that I could switch but no luck.. Do you think 8:40 is too late? we have 2 teens in tow so we aren't talking little guys that would crash.

I don't think 8:40pm is too late...I would just maybe have a later lunch, that way everyone won't be too hungry; and you could always grab a quick snack, popcorn:: if you needed something to hold you over til dinner. I'd keep calling to see if there were any cancellations but if not, just try and make the best of it....Come on! You're in Disney! ::MickeyMo

As long as you don't want to see Illuminations that night, I'd keep the reservation.

Because the majority of people will have left the restaurant at that time (because of the fireworks), you might have a quieter, more relaxed meal.

I agree. I ate there last year around that time, and while they were NOT accepting walk-ups, I was seated right around my reservation time. Of course, I never did get to see Illuminations or Fantasmic! that week, but that's my fault for scheduling late dinners every night :)

I will keep on trying to call...

I am not really interested in the Illuminations show because we just saw it
in feb 07 and we were sitting at crown and rose front dining so it was great.

I forgot about Illuminations. We have ADRs at Marrakesh at 7:30 one night and Le Cellier at 8:30 the next. I know we won't be able to catch Illuminations on that last night, but what about with 7:30 reservations? I wonder if we can get out of there in an hour's time?

Can you see Illuminations from any of the restaurants in WS?

How many are in your party? Sometimes it takes longer with larger parties. I would schedule dinners about 2 hours prior to Illuminations so you won't be rushed.

I don't think 8:40pm is too late. Have a late breakfast/early lunch and then a nice snack to tie you over until dinner. Kringla Bakeri is great for just this thing. ;)

I only have three for Marrakesh, but my friend made reservations for all 6 of us at Coral Reef for 30 minutes earlier just in case we change our mind.

Or were you talking to the original poster? :lol Sorry.

I would make this my lazy! I would sleep in a bit maybe take in the pool. Have a late lunch. Enjoy Epcot at a slower pace then at 8:40 enjoy yummy cheddar soup and filets ;)

Since you only have 3 people for Marakesh at 7:30 you should be ok. I would arrive 20 minutes early to see if you could be seated a bit early.

And in addition to possibly getting a table outside at Rose & Crown (canNOT be requested, complete luck) or right by the wall at the Mexican CS place, you can also see Illuminations from Chefs de France, if you can get seated in the glassed-in area, ideally right at the window. They dim the lights, too.

This is great we are planning on eating there our first night pretty late and were thinking we would have to mis Illuminations. Do you know if you can request the glassed in area on your ressie?

We had 8:40 ressies for LeCellier(me and my mom). And it was perfect. We ate a leisurley dinner then walked out to an EMPTY epcot. I mean we saw NO ONE!!! It was a little creepy, but neat. We walked to the front of the park. all the lights were on and the music was playing. We stopped at a restroom in FW, and I sat on a bench and waited for my mom.... I never saw a soul, not even a CM. We walked to the bus stop, and a CM came over and asked us which resort we were going to. There was NO ONE at the bus stop but us. Anyway, the CM called on his radio, a bus pulled up a couple of minutes later, and we rode an empty bus back to POFQ. I loved it. It was much better than trying to fight the closing time crowds and wait in a long line for a packed bus! This happened on our last night, but we decided that everytime we go to WDW, we will make late ADR's to avoid crowds. :hippie:

I agree, and that's usually what we do in order to AVOID Illuminations! (DD5-going-on-25 is still a little afraid of fireworks. Not afraid of alligators and snakes up-close-and-personal, but fireworks? Yep.)

We love not being rushed at dinner and then walking through Epcot almost alone with the music playing. It's a great way to end the evening.

Us too back in Dec 06, first week, we had a 8:40 at LeCellier i too was saying that was to late, but it ended up very nice, but we still had to wait at least 20 mins for our table.
Because the tables are to close to each other, we meet a older couple and had a great dinner chating with them, you know on that trip we meet the nicest people....
But anyway when you do leave Epcot it is empty, not scary kinda neat and really nice having a bus to yourself...
