I will apologize in advance if this has been discussed to death here.

Has there ever been any discussion of Disney doing big-screen re-releases? and if not, why? I mean, I know I would certainly take my children to see all the great Disney movies at the theater, wouldn't you? Would it be cost prohibitive? I have got to believe that seeing Little Mermaid or Beauty and the Beast on the big screen would be a huge treat that entire generations of children are missing. Anyone have any insight? :confused3

They have done Beauty and the Beast and Lion King for the IMAX screens. I did not see Lion King in IMAX but the kids loved Beauty and the Beast. They should do some of the other classics to this format.

For us we have kids ranging from 11 to 2. We have started showing the youngest some of the older pictures to get him ready for the trip next month, but the older kids are reluctant to watch them. They want to see something new.

There has to be costs involved in Re launching something, and resources you would have to dedicate to it, and right now those older films are cash cows for them. Easy money.

Just my thoughts.

Disney use to do this in the long ago past before the advent of VHS and now DVD.Since these technologies are now available they release them for home use for the most part .
