Big runDisney announcement coming in April

Epic fail. I already hate how close Princess is to the WDW Marathon weekend both from a budget and a recovery standpoint.

The date is a spectacular failure.

The date and the theme. I'm so not a Fairy fan, and Tinkerbell is such a brat in Peter Pan I've never warmed up to her and I know a lot of women who feel the same way. It took me years to warm up to a Princess theme, now a fairy theme?

I went and looked at the registration. It is eligible for the coast to coast (I assumed but it wasn't specified anywhere). This maybe will allow people to start the C2C challenge on the west and finish later on (W&D).

Also, although it's bad for recovery, someone could do the marathon weekend and then this and get their C2C out of the way by the end of January.

Apparently. What a bunch of <expletive>s everyone in that organization is. Oh how I wish there was an exception for this thread on what I can say here because it would be entertaining for everyone involved.

Since Disney obviously doesn't want me to do their races, with my evil external genitals and all, they will get their wish.

Agree the timing and the women's targeting is no bueno. Sorry for the guys.

I don't know...maybe the pegleg pirate combo, because people will end up in boots from their stress fractures.

Well, the only think I don't like is that it's pretty close to the Princess so I'll likely only be able to do one or the other...and it's definitely going to be the Tinkerbell...I want an inaugural medal!! I'm glad it's another DL race though, they needed another one...and it may help to thin out the Princess a bit too. I think I caught on the video that it said "new race course" so that's good too since I'm running the DL half later this year...new scenery!

Don't forget the 5K with the Tinkerbell (Friday, January 27, 2012 10:30 p.m., yay night race?). I'm thinking 'The Poopy'.

another who thinks this is a dumb idea while I like Tinkerbell, I think they missed a great opportunity for another themed marathon. (Toy story, Pirates, anything but princess and fairies) These dates are horrible and there's already a "women's marathon" with the Princess marathon in WDW. Sure, they're trying to cater to the west coast, but I think this is poor planning on their part.

I really don't get why they had to have it when they did so close to the other races, but I guess its a good chance for those doing Wine & Dine to spread out the chances for a coast to coast.

There is also the opportunity for a relay in this race, which I am sorry, $120 for a 10k, um no thanks....if I am reading the costs correctly.

I don't see what benefit they are giving their FB fans though, JUST early registration, like its going to fill up?

It is a great opportunity though for women on the west coast who can't afford a trip across the country for the princess.

What exactly did that cracked teapot with the Mary Poppins bird have to do with anything?

Would love to do it though, but it is not happening with it so close to the princess and I want to do that one again one more time.

I am SO glad that DL gets another event. DH and I do the DL 1/2 every year. We have so much fun. Since it's a Tink theme I think DH and our son can just cheer me on from the side lines !!

This will keep me training year round. Can't wait to sign up !!!

It'll probably also relieve the pressure on the DL half in September from those needing that one race for the C2C. I agree they needed another CA one. It just rules me out from running it.

We're supposed to keep guessing for another 9 months and they will reveal it at the expo....

But how could it be a new course? DL does not have that much land!

The inaugural medal is not enough incentive for me to switch from the WDW full. I like my W&D medal just fine, but I hardly notice that it says inaugural on it.

I won't be running this one. No way I can afford a trip to WDW for Goofy and then turn around and head out to DL three weeks later. I wonder if they're trying to smooth/spread the load from WDW weekend and the Princess across both parks.

On the plus side, one of the Half Fanatics qualifying criteria is three half-marathons in 90 days, so running WDW, DL, and Princess would get you qualified for that and also earn you a Coast to Coast medal.
