Big runDisney announcement coming in April

I just read (stitch kingdom) that it's going to be a Tinkerbell 1/2 Marathon at DL the last weekend of January. So another female-oriented event, assuming this info is correct.
The timing seems odd to me. With Marathon weekend in early January and the Princess in February, it seems odd to have the new race so close to those popular events. But maybe I'm just disappointed that I won't be able to go. I already paid for the January marathon so there's no way I could run in California later that month. :confused3

If this is correct, then I've saved some money because I don't see doing this race ever. Hubby and I have been doing the January races ar WDW for the past 15 years and I've done all of the Princess Halfs and plan to continue my perfect streak for the Princess for many more years. Frankly IMHO those two races are already too close together so adding one out on the west coast in between them just won't fit into the budget.

I'm hoping they're wrong. It doesn't make sense because none of the clues, to me, points to a Tinkerbell theme.

If that's the case I'm definitely out too since we're already booked for marathon weekend. Seems silly to have the race so close to the WDW marathon weekend and princess weekends for coast to coast. I doubt many people could do two trips that close.

Everything else aside, if the rumored dates are true, I'm most certainly out. I am hoping to attend a blog conference in Nashville that normally takes place at the end of January. I won't be able to afford two trips that close together and there's a possibility they'd be on the same weekend.

Count me in the not seeing what Tinkerbell has to do with any of the clues camp. Nothing's suggested "fairy" to me at all. The one flying thing was clearly a bird and not Tink or another fairy.

The only clue that has Tink in it is the very last one with her flying over the castle. :confused3

That's so strange, though. At least the word "princess" can be defined in a number of ways. Tinkerbell is Tinkerbell. That can't be good info, can it?

I'm also not getting the whole Tinkerbell thing out of the clues, but more of general Peter Pan.

The Scottish Flag clue is Peter Pan-ish because the original author of Peter Pan was Scottish.

The other thing I found was:
Peter Pan first appeared in a section of "The Little White Bird", a 1902 novel written by Barrie for adults.

So, that could be the "little white bird" in the Mrs Potts-like clue.

Those things are about Peter Pan, not Tink-specific, though.

I have never been so annoyed and intrigued at the same time.

Just over 24 hours and we will be far less peeved!
