Big river grille

I'm not a food snob(I love Applebee's and Chick fil a!), though I must concede I enjoy the art of fine cooking. I'm flexible. That being said, even I was underwhelmed. It wasn't up to the Disney norm the night I went. They also cram the seats and tables in far beyond what is reasonable for the space. DH and I are pretty small, and we could not remain seated when others around us had to get up and move. I wanted to like it, but discomfort plus overpriced not great food turned us off.

I totally agree. What I loved was the "housemade chips," we could see into the kitchen and watched them open the bag to dump them on a plate. Nice touch! This was a few years ago -not sure if they're still making them out of the bag or not....

I am so glad I came across this thread. We were thinking of going here after our DHS day, but after looking at the pictures that was posted and reading some of the PPs posts, I'm thinking of changing our plans for that night. My original thought was to have dinner here and then afterwards walk around the Boardwalk (love doing this at night) and then have an ice cream cone from Seashore Sweets.

You would be better off at ESPN.

I was just going to say I think I preferred ESPN, too. I liked the beer at Big River but it's annoying that their brown ale is never available in the summer, which is when we usually go. Food wise, ESPN was as good or better.

You can call ahead. Not sure how far in advance. I enjoyed sitting out on the boardwalk and drinking the beer sampler. I can't remember the food so it must have been fine/ok but nothing too special.

We didn't find the food as anything special. The guacamole was good, and the nachos were yummy. The main courses were bland and not super impressive. I had steak, my husband had the meatloaf and the kids had cheeseburgers. I wouldn't make a point to eat there again with so many other places to eat at that had food that stood out.
