Big River Grille and Brewing Works
or
Spoodles?

Are they located near a carnival like boardwalk? What exactly is there?

check out allears for pics of the beautiful views @ night (Boardwalk resort) and menus.

really, you cannot compare big river to spoodles.

we've been able to get a table @ big river w/o adr during Columbus Day week (a telling sign lol). It's more of a microbrewery that servers food. Tables jammed packed inside, outdoor patio seating available...really wouldn't recommend unless you couldn't get anything else. Even ESPN's food was better in the same area (no ADRs).

Spoodles is a delight, our fav @ the BW.

They are on the Boardwalk, although "carnival like" is open to some debate:)

Anyway-if all you are after is a burger and a good beer, Big River is fine. If you want better food in a nicer restaurant, Spoodles is the place.

I don't like Spoodles after our disgusting encounter with a large 8 legged creater looking at us the whole time eating our cold food.
I am not sure where the other resturant is located but if it were me I would go there.

Ok so its not like a carnival with rides. I thought at one time they had entertainment on the boardwalk. Jugglers and little acts?

Is there shopping?

I did look on AllEars thanks! It looks beautiful!

I just want to know what is there to do on the boardwalk?
I see you can rent the bikes...that looks fun.

You can rent bikes and they do have a few jugglers, etc. A piano bar, some restaurants and a few shops. Ithink I remember a stand where you can toss a basketball for a prize.
Nice enough to be sure, but it really won't make you forget Atlantic City or Wildwood in their heyday. We go mostly to eat at the Flying Fish!!

My vote is for Big River Grill the food is much better. I don't like sitting inside but outside is nice. Great view of the water and the boardwalk has performers that walk around. They stopped in front of our table and my 3 year old loved them.

ps my name is Laura Ann as well :cool1:

My vote:

We've eaten at both at least 3 times. Big River is good in a pinch (i.e. you are caught out with no ADR elsewhere), or if you are in the mood for an above average beer. But food wise, it pales in comparison to the quality at Spoodles.
(To be fair, we feel that both places have went downhill in the last 4 years. That last menu change at Spoodles was not an improvement, IMHO. And don't even get me started on whatever has happened to the meatloaf at Big River. Yuck!)

I would pick Spoodles over BRG. We have eaten at Spoodles many times and always enjoyed our meals. We have eaten at Flying Fish also and enjoyed our food.

We have seen entertainers there in the evening. I don't believe there are any during the day. We've tried BRG twice and don't care to return. Food was just so-so and their chips and salsa were a total joke. We ate at Spoodles 3 years ago and enjoyed what they had then.

Ok I picked Spoodles. I cant wait to see the boardwalk. It looks so pretty in the pictures I have seen. I love to take pictures to Ill be clicking away!

Thanks everyone for your input!:goodvibes

Laura Ann, I was named after a very old song named Laura. Not the General Hospital one. My Dad named me when he heard the song. Ive never heard it myself. Guess I should find it and listen to it. My mom wanted to name me Nickelett, so I happy with it...lol
