I just booked BWV for Labor Day weekend. DH and I will be going without the kids!:banana::banana:

I thought Big River Grille sounded OK for lunch--anyone have any opinions? I've never been, and haven't read much about it. We'll probably arrive around lunchtime and will want to sit and eat right away rather than go into Epcot. Is ESPN much better?

Thanks for the help!:goodvibes

ESPN is definatly NOT better in our opinion. It was one of the WORSE meals we had while there last time. We will not be returning, ever. We also ate at the Big River Grill and it was good. Service was very good. We enjoyed our time together as we sat and watch our boys driving around in the lagoo on the water boats.

Definitley agree with this - ESPN is just horrible. After several visits over the years, I finally decided a few years ago to never go back there again.

As for Big River, it is quite good. I go there at least once for lunch on every trip to WDW (in fact, if all goes according to plan, I'll be having lunch there two weeks from tomorrow!). Food is good "bar food", beers are quire good and service has always been fine. If you can get a table outside, it makes for a lovely, relaxing lunch.

Great! Thanks for the replies. I just want a good decent lunch when we get dropped off. I think I'll plan on this!

Are the steaks here decent, or should we stick to the sandwiches?:confused3

DH got steak here and HATED it. Worse steak he ever had and that's a quote.

Have you thought about the Crew Cup lounge over at the Yacht Club? It's the bar area next to the YSH. They serve a small menu from the regular restaurant at lunch and from the YC for dinner. However, it's usually quite and has great service and may be a great place, especially without kids.

DH and I love it.

We were there last week and had a nice lunch at Big River. We both had a chicken and bacon sandwhich that was yummy. We ate at ESPN zone for dinner when it was the only place we could get into one night close to the hotel. It was laughably bad.

Big River Grille for lunch is one of our most favorite places. Don't get to do it too much because of our timing but when we do, it has not disappointed at all. The burgers are really good and I don't have that much experience with anything other than the sandwiches so I'd stick to those based on what others have said. Plus, if it's nice and you can sit outside, it's so peaceful and relaxing. Just watching people walk the Boardwalk and listening to the Friendship boats whistles. Damn it! Now I want to be there!
