Does anyone know how early in advance I can call to make a dinner reservation at Big River Grille? We are going the 2nd week in July and do not want to get shut out. DH is really excited for their ribs. :goodvibes

You won't get shut out there. I'm not sure how far in advance but there have been walk ups with MANY empty seats everytime we walk by it. The one time we did eat there we were one of 4 tables in the entire restaurant. I think most people don't know to call to make ADR here through the restaurant so I think mid June and you should be fine.

I would call now and see the number is in this web site. I want to try this place first week in June more for the beer flight then the ribs, but do love ribs, going to Flame Tree like all trips for the ribs. I'm going to try a walk up cause have other ADR's and when we are in EPCOT we will take the boat over and see. We got in Le Cellier last year with a walkup so we hope to get in here. There are some not so good reviews that means I'll probably like the place.

Thank you both for the input. I will try to give them a call and see what they say. If not we can also do a walk up and see what happens. I have a backup ressie at Captains Grille anyway but DH really wants to ribs and also is looking forward to the beer flight. :rotfl:

We have always just walked in and never had a problem getting a reservation or seat; however, since you are going at a busier time, I'd make your ADR as soon as you decide which day of your trip you'd like to visit. Just in case!

I don't think you can make ADR's for Big River. Although I have never seen a line that was very long to get in. Good Luck.

Sorry to jump into this thread, but does anyone know if there is a bar area where you can just walk in and try some of their beers and not eat there?

We've eaten there before and I'm pretty sure there was a bar area. We didn't sit near it and the restaurant was empty but I'm pretty sure there were stools at it.
We went mid summer... no adr needed. Food was subpar.

Yes there is a bar area, not large but still one. We had good food the night we were there. It is pub food not fine dining. We used to always eat at ESPN but had horrible food (I got sick!) there earlier in that trip so switched over to BRG later in the week and we were pleasantly surprised.

Not always true. When there's conventions at the Crescent Lake resorts and the Swolphin, that place gets really packed. The last time we did dinner there, there was an hour plus wait. We got lucky. Apparently (and this is shocking, I know), beer and bar-type food is popular with convention-going men. :)

They do not take reservations. 6-9pm is their busy dinner time. We showed up at 6pm and waited about 15 min, but it gets longer after that. I heard 1 hours waits later in the evening.

That being said, I found the food to be extremely meh. We got a strip steak (the $18.99 one) nachos, and the alfredo chicken pasta. All just eh but the nachos were a real disappointment: a bit of processed cheese sauce, a tablespoon of chopped tomatoes, and a few jalapenos with some shredded chicken.

The beer flight was good and only $7.50. I wouldn't go back for the food though.
