You might also want to sign up for email specials on their website before you go (bigrivergrille, then go to the top right and click on big river online). I have received some good offers from them (free appetizers, 2 for 1, tapping party invites and specials, etc.). Be sure when you sign up to use the Disney World - Boardwalk choice as your favorite location so you'll get offers from there.

They have a children's menu.

If you're asking about a "kid-friendly" atmosphere I have no idea what that would entail. It's a casual restaurant, but it's not like a character meal or anything that caters specifically to children. If you'd take your kids to a casual chain restaurant at home, you shouldn't have problems taking them here.

I think some assume that because the restaurants are on Disney property they'll play up the "child-friendly" aspect by making the room or the food more attractive to families as opposed to other types of guests, but I don't think this one does. Don't think you'd be yelled at or anything for bringing children.
