We're thinking about trying the Big River Grill for lunch on our DHS day.- We'd take the ferry over to the Boardwalk...any idea how long of a trip it is? Has anyone eaten there before; did you like it?
The only reason we're thinking about trying it, is because you can get there from DHS, and there's really not a TS place at DHS that we like. Any thoughts?

About a 20 minute ride by boat from DHS. It's faster to walk to Boardwalk if you want to do that. Or, when the boat stops at the Swan/Dolphin, get out there and walk. If you stay on, the boat will stop at Beach/Yacht first, then Boardwalk.

The food is straightforward chain restaurant bar food. Appetizers are pretty good. The beer is pretty good. Entrees are OK.

You might also consider the Dolphin Fountain for quick TS.

Overall reviews for BRG aren't great. You may want to read the dining reviews here when trying to decide. :disrocks:

The beer and the view (if it's not too hot to sit outside) are the best part of BRG. The inside I find a little tight, noisy and without much ambiance, The food is good, nothing exceptional but on par with the pricing. Another good thing, you can usually get in without an ADR.

I like the beer, but for food we actually like ESPN better. :)

We like the Big River. Food is pretty good and the beers are great. We have a Big River passport rewards card and we get points for every dollar spent. Also just took a survey and will get a free app when we return in Dec. ESPN is great for watching sports and the food is good too. Big River rewards card also lets you jump the line for dining. It is kind of small and if it is busy can feel really tight........but we go each trip. :cheer2:

We found that the food was okay but the service was not great. I really was anxious to eat there, but don't think we'll return.

We have lunch there on virtually every trip to WDW. Food is good, but typical, bar food (and it's much better than ESPN, which is terrible!), beers are different, interesting and very good, and service has always been just fine. Well worth a trip to get away from the hustle and bustle of the parks for a quiet lunch in the middle of the day.

Agree 100 percent. I really like sitting out here at night drinking the beer. You can see distant bits and pieces of the various nighttime firework shows -- not that you should go here for that (definitely don't) but it's kinda fun to have in the far background.

Bar food and beer. They do not take ADRs.

Actually they do take ADR's.
Just not through Disney's system, you need to call them directly.

And if you like a micro brew bar and grill food you'll probably like it.
so don't worry about "reviews". It's like anything else, depends on your tastes.

We thought the food was good.
The desserts were great.
Fanatastic Chocolate Cake and cheesecake.
