Big River Grill and Brewing Works

We are planning on starting our next trip with dinner on the Boardwalk at the Big River Grill. Our favorite local chain, Hops, recently closed. It was a brewery/steakhouse along the same lines as this one seems to be.

Let's get some reviews.
What is the food like?
What are their house brews like?
What do you recommend on the menu?

We hated it. Well, the service AND the food. We didn't try the beer. The meatloaf and even the salad I had was gross. The meatloaf was more than "char-grilled" it was more like hard as a rock burnt. The waitress was rather rude and never checked on us. Wose meal we ever had at WDW period. And when I was in college I used to waitress so I rarelt complain about restaurants or service unless it's real bad. But..everyone has their opinions. That's just mine. I don't think they give tours, but I am not sure.

We had lunch there a couple of weeks ago and it was fine. No beer reviews - sorry. It is brew pub food. Burgers, sandwiches and salads. No complaints from us. It was fine.

The meatloaf used to be pretty good, but last trip it was dry, had very little gravy, and had little (if any ) Italian sausage in it. "Bland" would be a good description.. The best thing on the menu seems to be the burger.
Don't look for hundreds of beers here--I think they have just 4 regular brews and one or two seasonal beers. In season, Wowzer's Wheat is very good!!
Service is lackluster, and inside is sort of "dingy". Outside on the Boardwalk is a better seat.

WOW we absolutly love the BRG. And the meatloaf if the best. And yes we go often and was just there last month and will be there again next week. And I assure you we will be eating there again.

Its just like with any other 2000 restaurants you get the bad cook on the bad day the food stinks. But that might just be for that day, dont judge it unless its happened more than once.

I was not at all impressed with food, service, or decor. The beer was just OK.

Have to go with a thumbs up for Big River Grill. Excellent location for an evening meal. If it's a nice night, you can sit outside and people watch. The food is OK, nothing spectacular. My husband loved the burger and that's saying a lot for the burger loving fool.

Beer - well, this is one of the reasons we go back. They have a six beer sampler for $4.95. It's very well presented and worth a stop over just for that. You don't have to get a meal if you don't want to. My husband used to brew his own beer and was amazed at how well this was done.

I'd say go for your first night.

After a few disappointing meals there, they are off my list totally. There are too many other good places to eat at WDW to bother wasting our time giving them another chance.

I've eaten here twice and both times it was not very good. I couldn't even tell you what I had, it was unmemorable. I think you should just go for some beer and an appetizer and check out another place for dinner.

Had lunch back in June at Big River......first and last time we go there.
Inside needs a thorough cleaning and updating. Food way overpriced for a non-Disney restaurant. Too many great choices in the Boardwalk area to waste time and money at Big River.

Ate there once....never again. DH is a micro-brewery fan and liked the beer, but not much else. The food was terrible...ribs that had no taste, even with BBQ sauce; PB&J (how can you mess that up??? ) for DD-5 had so much jelly it was soggy and wet. The other meals weren't much better. Easily the worst meal of that trip.

We ate lunch there, mostly so that we could watch a football game (ESPN club too crowded!). The beer was tasty, and the sandwiches were fine--nothing to rave about, but not bad. I will say that it's overpriced, but that's what we've come to expect with Disney...
