MousePlanet and Jim Hill are reporting that Disney is getting ready for a major rehab of Kilimanjaro Safari, with the main reason being to eliminate the Big Red / Little Red storyline and make the ride just an African Safari with no "big climax ending". Your thoughts?

I think this is a good idea for several reasons.

One is that people who do the saafari more than once get sick and tired of it.

The other is that when they do away with this there will be no audioanimatronics and all animals seen on the safari will be real.

That's for sure!

I think the storyline feels rather forced - the safari is enjoyable by itself.

then what are they going to do at the ending?
i loved going fast.

I'm glad. Maybe they will take more time to let people actually see and photograph the animals. When we rode a few years ago, we were all disappointed because they were in such a hurry.

My thoughts...

Good! The first time I went on the safari and heard the Big Red/Little Red story, I thought it was pretty cool and brought about some extra realism to the attraction. By the second, third, fourth, etc., it was getting pretty old.

I do enjoy good quality aminatronics, and do not mind seeing them along with the real animals...however I say either think up a new story or just forget the story alltogether.

GOOD!!! I do not like the storyline AT ALL!

I think it would be nice if they slowed it down and did more watching the animals like it should be. I guess if you want to go fast try Everest. (JMHO)

What their reporting is that their really wouldn't be any "ending" so to speak, except to continue driving at the slow pace until the ride was over. My assumption would be that they will remove the Little Red stuff and make that area accesible to the animals currently on the safari or possibly get some new animals for that area.

This is a great idea. The story line is old and I would like the ride to slow down a bit. It would be so much better for viewing the animals, especially for my children it seems like they were always missing something.

I agree!! The first time you ride, you think it's a cute storyline. After that, it's just there & you endure it! I think people just really want to see the animals & have the driver point out things we may otherwise miss.

I agree but the only problem with this is that it would be even longer wait times to ride.

I'd like to see them find a way to give better viewing to the lion, hopefully thats part of the refurb.

I thought the storyline interrupted all the fun animal viewing so I will be glad if there is no storyline at all. They can still talk about conservation and poaching. Though I also enjoyed the "go fast" they can still do that over the "rickety bridge."

could care either way on the big/little red story. won't be sad to see it go. i do hope they keep the african music that they play at one point during the current attraction. i find it adds a lot to the over all feel of the safari.

My thoughts:

It's about time. That storyline took away from the whole amibence of the rest of the ride. It felt very forced and not at all believable.

I think the conservation message is good, but the whole poaching storyline seemed forced.

I agree with other posters more viewing time of animals would be great!

Thank Goodness! The little red/big red thing always seems sooooo forced!
