Big Red / Little Red storyline being removed from Kilimanjaro Safaris

I don't understand. I always thought that what made Disney better than other theme parks was this kind of storytelling that is woven into the rides. Are we also all sick of seeing Aerosmith late to the Forum for their concert... watching the same Twilight Zone video at the ToT... the description of the "bare bones" approach to paleontology at Dinosaur...or the selection of tests for your GM vehicle (off road or cornering?) at test track? Maybe we should do away with all of them because they are SO repetitive if you've been there more than once...

Sorry to be cranky, but I loved the Big Red/Little Red storyline - it is classic Disney, especially since he had such a strong conservation ethic - and I'm sad to see another piece of his legacy diminished.

I would like it if they ditched the storyline and just took us on a safari to see the animals. They can still put in the conservation message through the driver's script. But we don't really need to go chasing poachers, do we?

. On a real safari, you could be chased by rhinos (like my school advisers were which did make for really amazing pictures) or by cheetahs (which my friends did when they went to Namibia last year.

If you were chased by any animal on safari you were not respecting them, getting too close or just being plain stupid.

Kilimanjaro Safari is not a real safari, but as good as most people will get and hopefully it will teach people to respect wildlife!!

On my trip in February, the driver wasn't getting involved with the overhead radio. Not sure if its a sign that they are starting to do away with the storyline, or if it was because it was pouring down rain?!

Guess I am the minority here! Little Red Story never bothered me. Yet, I guess if you go 3-4 times a year it does get old.

But then so does the every other show

Whatever they do I will be happy with. I think that the safari ride kicks butt:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

It is such a unique attraction and my whole family loves it.

hmmm.....maybe little red can find a home somewhere else in Africa?

I thought they were adding new vehicles w/ increased passenger capacity? It would be nice to cut the wait times w/o rushing the opportunity to view the animals.

I was just at AK yesterday and the BR & LR story is still there. My driver was very involved with the radio storyline. Saw a LOT of animals. O yeah and Everest ROCKED!!!
