BIG Purchase Question - Advice Please!!

Does Disney ever sell less than 160 points to a first time owner? It seems that I saw somewhere that Disney had been selling 100 points only recently. Is there any way to make that happen?
We are currently waiting on ROFR for a 60 pt resale, but after reading today about how so many small contracts get taken at ROFR by Disney to resell to current owners wanting to add points, I am thinking about what we'll do if that happens with this contract. We'd really like to get involved with DVC but can't afford the 160 pts and really don't need that many pts with our vacation habits at this time. We want to start small and see where it goes.
So, is continuing to fight for smaller resales our only option if we lose this one to ROFR or would we ever be able to buy a smaller amount from Disney?

In March, Disney was still offering new owners a chance to buy in to AKV with only 100 points.

It is only a few weeks from when that ended and you never know what you will get them to agree to.

We just purchased 100 points at AKV and are new members - so yes, you can purchase just 100 points to buy in (to AKV anyway!)
