You mean inside the attraction right? Anything dark. I sat behind some guy in POC that took a picture every 5 seconds, I swear. Complete with flash of course. I like having pics of the rides just as much as anyone, but it is so disrespectful to everyone else around you. Even in IASW it's annoying, but not as annoying as in POC or PPF or HM.
Yes. There is an announcement ar WWTBAM that there is to be NO taping or pictures. If there is no taping/pictures at attractions and shows, the CMs will tell you. I only find pictures annoying in the dark attractions/shows.
You know, I was thinking just that - the dark rides. But leads me to a question. So people really take them that often anyway? I see pictures out on the web all of the time from HM, Splash, Pirates, Peter Pan, Pooh, Snow White, Buzz and more.
Also - why in the world would you take pictures in Philharmagic? You cannot shoot the 3-d effects.
I think that taking any flash pictures on any ride that's inside (a dark ride) is a HUGE no-no! Last Aug. I was on Peter Pan and the people behind me kept taking flash pictures. Ruined the ride for me because the way the track is set up, I kept catching their flash right in my eyes. I felt like yelling that the pictures wouldn't come out even with a flash.
Also, never take a flash picture of a CM inside the HM. Their eyes aren't used to the light and it severly blinds them. I've had it happen. It's quite painful.
My advice is enjoy the rides. Keep the memory in your mind, not the photo album.
If you have the correct film in your camera or set your digital camera to the correct settings, you can take some pretty good pictures without a flash.
Some people want to take pictures, but they don't know how to turn the flash off. A guy sitting behind me at a show tapped my shoulder and asked me how to work his digital camera (I was using mine just like it). He'd bought it at a pawn shop and didn't get an owner's manual. He said "they'd" been fussing at him about flashes on the rides, but he didn't know how to turn it off! So I showed him how, along with some other nifty features he didn't even know he had.
Took the words right out of my mouth! LM is a big no-no! Although, there was a lady beside me videotaping the whole thing. I would have to POC is the worst ride to take pivtures on. My Dh nevers listens to me and we always end up with dark pictures you can barely make them out!
I think that it all comes down to common courtesy. If the flash will end up in someone's eyes (ie if the ride vehicle turns corners..or if you are in a multi-row vehicle) don't use the flash. You can take lots of pretty pictured even in dark rides without a flash.
bytheblood-- I think that Caylin meant that the pictured won't come out like it looks in the ride... the Blacklights don't really come out in pics too well w/ flash
