BIG LOVE Season 4 Premiers tonight on HBO 9pm E

Season Four premiere. With the grand opening of the Blackfoot Magic Casino only days away, the Henricksons make last-minute preparations under the skeptical eye of Tommy Flute, son of Bill's partner Jerry. As the feds probe the whereabouts of Roman Grant, Alby has a close encounter with Dale Tomasson, the state-appointed trustee of Juniper Creek's assets. At the compound, Adaleen shares a shocking secret with Nicki, who's under fire for opening a new bank account for Roman. Though her home-shopping business is thriving, Margie makes an on-air slip-up that prompts her boss Beverly to voice concerns about possible burnout. Worried for her safety, Lois offers Frank a piece of her fledgling bird-purveying business. Bill and Nicki's smarmy ex, J.J. Walker, work out an arrangement allowing Cara Lynn to stay at the Henrickson's while attending high school during the week. Ben lands a gig with his Christian rock band and ends up being called into backup duty for another.

I can't wait, the DVR has been set, I don't know if I will watch HBO or the Food netowork. I think I will fall asleep in the middle of either show. :lmao:

I can't wait - and hopefully won't forget. DVR sounds good if I get off my butt. Waiting too long for this show to come back on.

I just caught up all this week with season 3 (lots of TV watching!) and cannot wait for this new season to start! We don't usually get HBO - we have a freebie trial right now and it's expiring the end of Jan. I've decided I just have to extend it until Big Love is over. DH didn't understand until I made him watch a few episodes. Now's he's into all the drama, too.:lmao:

You know I'll be there! 9:00 sharp with a bowl of popcorn! popcorn::

I've spent the last week getting caught up on the last season and watched the final episode twice last night! I wonder if Roman is really dead? Doesn't sound like it from the teaser posted in the OP.

I'm ready! I'm a little sad that there will only be 9 episodes this season though. That's what I read in our newspaper yesterday.:sad1:

:yay: WOOHOO, so many DISer's tuning in to BIG LOVE!!! :yay:

Can't wait!!! :happytv:

As if juggling three wives weren't tricky enough, Season Four of Emmy- and Golden Globe-nominated BIG LOVE finds modern polygamist Bill Henrickson (Bill Paxton) tackling problems outside his three-house suburban home. Bill is building a new church for himself and his family, but some of his loyal followers are skeptical. Meanwhile, the Henricksons face the pressure of opening their new Mormon-friendly casino with their Native-American partners, and Bill takes on a public campaign in hopes of one day creating more stability for his unconventional family. It appears unlikely the family can extricate themselves from the politics at the Juniper Creek compound and with Roman Grant's (Harry Dean Stanton) legacy. The power struggles between first wife Barb (Jeanne Tripplehorn), second wife Nicki (Chloë Sevigny) and third wife Margene (Ginnifer Goodwin) continue. And then there are the assorted family dramas including the growing pains of Bill's two oldest, Sarah (Amanda Seyfried) and Ben (Douglas Smith), and the endless challenges brought on by his brother Joey (Shawn Doyle), their father Frank (Bruce Dern) and mother Lois (Grace Zabriskie). Bold, funny and wholly original, BIG LOVE continues to explore the evolving institution of marriage through this typically atypical family.

I just finished watching the final episode to the last season so I am ready for tonight!

That is what is bad about the series on HBO, Showtime, etc the seasons are so short and you have to wait forever til the next season.

After watching the begining of tonights show I'm not sure if I saw finale.

First of all, I LOVED the opening credits!

I can't believe how Nikki's mom kept Roman in the freezer. She told Nikki to go down and look for bacon, that chick is just freakin crazy!

I dont get Bill's parents. That relationship is just twisted!

I noticed that they are bringing up Ben and Marg's relationship this season. I hope they dont go there!

Also, how could Bill and Nikki forget Roman's HAT??? DUH! :headache:

I'm so glad my show is back on!

ME TOO, Honny!!!

Ok, what is with all the BIRDS!!! :lmao: Interesting way to make some money. I bet that room smelled real sweeeeeeet. :sad2:

So the Grand Opening of the Casino went very well! :goodvibes

Kenny Rogers....is he still popular??? :confused3

All in all a great epi!!!! :happytv:

Well, I was a little shocked about Roman, but I knew Adele had the ability to go off the deep end so it wasn't all that surprising to me when she did.

What shocked me more was the "Ben's Christian Rock Group" story line. Did I miss something in the first three seasons? When did Ben form or become a part of a Christian rock group? I saw that last night and thought perhaps Big Love was attempting to jump the shark. What a disapointment. :sad1:

There were so many new storylines and characters behaving out of character that I agree with a previous poster upthread: I'm not sure I saw the previous season's finale even though I know I watched it the night before. It's like they've got all new writers or directors or something and they're starting over.

Only 9 episodes this season then that's it until next year, huh? Perhaps this IS the last season of Big Love. If they stay as bad as they were last night, perhaps it might be good riddance to a good show gone bad. We'll see.

I did not like the opening credits, but maybe it will grow on me. The show was good. I can see that this is going to be an action-packed season.

I didn't get the whole Christian rock band thing either. I feel like that came out of left field. But I enjoyed everything else. There were some funny moments too! Can't wait for next week!
