Went into our Big Lots for some Sunday School supplies and saw they had a sign 'namebrand scrapbooking supplies'....so you know I had to check it out.

They had MM metal borders, lots of little die cuts, cute stickers, some shaker boxes, tags etc...all very nice. All around a buck!

Can you believe I didnt buy a thing? I need different stuff than they had so opted to pass but wanted to let you all know about it in case you want to go have a look.

I went and found very little that I could use. They do have some MM stuff; also Architexture embellies. I got several sheets of alphabet stickers but that was about it.

glad someone could use the good prices. So what did you buy?

Okay... quick run down...

Two shaker boxes (one star/red-white-blue, one brownish leaf),

two packages of MM moulding strips (silver finish),

two MM black leather frames (small, almost slide size),

several pieces from Architexture building embellishments (corners, small frames, small stone circles and squares),

lots of slide mounts (Freeze Frames from Delux Designs) in sand, pink tulle, diamond plated (think stainless steel running boards on a truck), natural wood, bricks, hawaiian print, sprinkles (think ice cream), a few tags from "Fresh Stickers" by EK success (travel theme and outdoor theme),

and a few other assorted goodies.

I think the slide mounts were the best deal.... 3 in a package for 79 cents... and the designs are cute. I don't think anything was over $1.00.

I'll let you all know if I find any more goodies!...........P

Every time someone posts about finding goodies at Big Lots I have a debate with myself about whether or not it's worth it to drive down there. Ours never seems to have anything good! :( I need to go to the spice store one day soon which is in the same town. Maybe I'll go Tuesday & check them out again. Hope springs eternal I guess. ;)

I had to check ours out, too. I bought some eyelets, string with adhesive on the back, and some paper. I was pleasantly surprised with how inexpensive it was. I will definitely be checking them out on a regular basis now.

I managed to sneak a few minutes to run there on my way to my parents this morning. Imagine my shock to actually find they had some of the things you were talking about!!

Unfortunately, the only slide mounts mine had were jingle bells (which I skipped), sand, dirt with tire tracks & river tumbled stones. Oh - and they also had some with pennies! I got a couple of those thinking I could use them for pressed pennies if I use some transparency...kind of like a shaker box.

There were only 2 shaker boxes - an acorn that I got for my WL LOs and a very large Easter egg. I skipped that because I don't really go for large things. :confused3

They also had some Quillettes - monkeys, lady bugs, giraffes & parrots.

I got a package of moulding strips & another of moulding corners that matched the strips.

That's all I got, but I'm still shocked that they had anything!

Oh - they had some really neat stuff they called "yarn" (it was more of a fancy string really) but it was $4 per pack & I decided that since I didn't have a definite LO in mind it was too hard to decide on a color. I think my blood sugar was getting low at the point - I can never make a decision then.

ours had a lot of the metal moulding border thingy's...... :rotfl: love my creative writing skills. But I passed as I am trying to only buy what I need right now. The only thing I passed on that I loved was a fire shaped shaker box. It was just beautiful. But had no use for it so I left it there for some other scrapbooking addict. Wasn't that kind of me :goodvibes

;) Yes, that was very nice of you! I just wish I'd been able to find one of those at my store!! I can think of at least 5 pages I could use it for. Hmmm - if I ever get down how to make them, I'm going to have to try a fire shaped one! ::yes:: I'm still having adhesive issues - mainly because I don't want to buy any more kinds....but buying a bunch of Paddle Punches isn't an issue! LOL
