I am wondering, are the pineapple macadamia nut pancakes that come alone the same as the ones that are served w/ the Big Kahuna only smaller? Is there a difference?
Strange, that wasn't my experience at all. The pancakes were topped with the pineapple & macadamia nut butter. This was at the end of March. They were awesome, btw. Next time I'm getting just them and skipping the other stuff.

When you order the real version the nuts are mixed in the pancake batter and the pancakes are just loaded with them. (They are so rich and that is why I dont order the full plate anymore). When you get the Kahuna platter they are plain pancakes, no nuts in the batter, and the macadamia nut butter and pineapple sauce are on top (I ask for it on the side). I just wish the batter was the same...

Ah, ok. I thought you meant it didn't have nuts or anything. You're correct, there weren't any nuts in the actual pancakes themselves when we got it. Thanks for clarifying.
The lady at the next table ordered the macadamia nut pancakes...they were plate-sized, can't recall for sure but I think there was 3 stacked on the plate. Looked like a huge amount of pancakes, my recollection of it...
thanks so much for the info...............I'm going to order the pancakes by themselves instead of the big kahuna..........I want the nuts in the batter. When we were in Hawaii the restaurant in the hotel lobby had some with nuts in the batter and they were topped w/ banana.......They were so yummy I ordered them every morning for the 8days we were there. I'm hoping the ones at Kona will be at least almost as yummy
