My Mother in Law had a stroke on Tuesday and seemed to be doing okay, she had full motility in her legs and although she wasn't able to speak she was making sounds and was able to move at least one of her arms. At about 3pm today my brother in law phoned to say that she had taken a turn for the worse and is now on a life support machine, they mentioned a blood clot and bleeding and have said that they think there is actually nothing they can do for her other than make her comfortable.
My husband left an hour or so for the long drive down to Guildford, I hope he gets there in time to say goodbye but my kids (8 & 6) are so upset and I just feel so bad because he's on his own for the long drive.
I lost my mum 12 years ago at the age of 42 to Ovarian Cancer and my dad died of a massive heart attack 3 years ago at the age of 52 and my husband was so strong for me, my Mother in Law is 55 and I am such an emotional person that i'm not doing very well at holding it together for him!
I don't want to pick the phone up when it rings because i'm afraid of what i'll be told

My Mother in Law passed away this morning so now it's the next step, I don't know when the funeral is but she will be cremated and scattered at a tree she used to love being around when she was little. My Father in Law is going to sell the house, too many memories.
Thank you for all your hugs and words of encouragement, i'm here alone with the children and desperately want to hug my husband but right now he is where he should be, with his Dad, brother and sister.
