BIG Hairy Spiders

Dont vacuum the spiders it doesnt kill them !!! I tried it once and the horrible thing crawled out of the hoover later and nearly scared me to death!!

That is the good thing about my Dyson there is no escape and the way it works the spider is killed. I feel a bit bad about that.

I'm not afraid of spiders; DW and DDs are, so I usually end up saving them from them , but the other night DW and DDs had gone to bed and I was watching a late film when something caught my eye running across the carpet - I looked down and there was the biggest spider I've ever seen outside a zoo!

It even made me a bit apprehensive. I just grabbed the nearest thing (DWs trainer!) and bashed it! I thought about keeping it to she DW in the morning, but in the end I picked it up by one of it's legs and through it outside.

Need to remember that just incase DH is not about.

You do realise that all spiders are venonmous. Usually you cannot feel their bite because they are that small but obviously the bigger they get the more chances of feeling their bite if they bit you. :scared1:

We keep getting all these really stupid thin little spiders. Tiny body and really long thin legs - if you blow them they thay actually fall over. Seem to have them everywhere atm!

Im also getting really annoyed with one thats made a home behind my wing mirror on my car, everymorning i have a huge web across it - course theres no way to get rid of it!! - except maybe drive through a car wash!!

I always laugh at a Fred Basset cartoon where he was walking a spider out of the house telling it, that it didn't belong! :rotfl2:

Anyway spiders aren't welcome in our house we have those electric things you plug in and sends a signal through the wiring that they don't like. Doesn't keep em all out but does help. I've also heard that chestnut polish helps as there is something in it that they don't like.

Just reading this thread is giving me the creeps, I am so scared of spiders. Dh goes mad at me but i can't help it they really do scare me.

We have one too and it works a treat. Will even keep out any more bats...that really scared me.

l hate September just for the reason that its spider season but up til now (dont tell everyone) but we've not had any :rolleyes1, now l've just said that there'll be loads :confused3

Ewww, spiders and daddy long legs :guilty: they are everywhere at the moment :sad2:

There's an absolutely massive one which has built a web from our fence to the side of the house. The web is almost 4 feet across and the spider sits in the middle of if for most of the day. Consequently neither I nor my DH have dared put the wheelie bin back behind the house. It'll have to stay out front until the monster is gone. It's already been there a week. :scared1:

Apparently the monster crop is due to our really hot summer (see - we can't have it both ways, good weather =big spiders) I don't like the huge ones but have to show no fear as Callum dooesn't like them either so its always up to me to get rid of them (usually using Tims trainer method)

I absolutely hate big spiders too. We've had a massive one in the sink, tha bath and one came running towards me whilst I was sat on the sofa on Saturday night. It makes me shudder to think about it.
Before David moved in I used to suck them up with the hoover but as I have a Dyson you could still see them moving in there. I once caught a huge one in the hoover and as it was still moving I kept using the hoover to try and kill it. Nothing worked so I put the hoover outside until my ex could come and empty it for me. The kids from next door aked me if I was getting rid of the hoover, I think their Dad wanted it. You should have seen there face when I said no, it's there because there's a big spider in it :lmao:

I think I have a pet spider: it seems to be the same one that I catch each evening and chuck back into the garden, but the next evening it's strolling across the carpet again. My spider has attitude. :smooth:

The daddy long legs can get squashed though....

But they've got so many legs! And they can fly into my face! Spiders are fine, they're not aerial.

not unless they fall off the ceiling onto you head ! :guilty:

reading this has made me sit up as high as possible since we've only had 1 huge spider so far the others stay outside

makes me think of waiting outside Latin at school and this huge spider was on the window pane everyone was well away from it then a girl went up and hit it with her shoe and it fell to the ground and ran around there was a huge scream and that girl covered her balzer over it then picked it up again and the spider was stuck to it eeeewwwwwwww she screamed flew it about then someone killed it somehow

My fear of spiders at this time of the year is so great that its just cost me £150 for two new pairs of curtains for the front room lol. My old curtains went down to the floor and were a nesting place for the spiders! One night last year there were 3 huge ones all together at the same time :sad2: . So l thought right this year l'm getting rid of those curtains and have replaced them with new ones that dont touch the floor. Crazy woman l know :rolleyes1
