I just booked my flights to Orlando for Feb 29th to March 9th 2016. I am traveling with my husband and my two kids (5 and 8 y.o.). We were thinking of starting our trip at Disney and saving the last 2 days for Universal Studios so that means we will be staying at Disney from the 29th of Feb to the 6th of March: 5 nights 6 days.
We usually love staying at POFQ for its small size, access to POR and boat ride to DTD but now I am considering the Poly or BC.
What happened was that we were supposed to go to Hawaii with the kids in March to renew our vows, but because of unforeseen events we had to cancel that trip. We had enough points to fly to Orlando so we decided to hold off on the vow renewal and go to WDW instead. The kids are ecstatic.
Since we had to scrap Hawaii and the vow renewal, I wanted to treat ourselves to a deluxe resort. I have already been to the Poly 2 years ago alone with my husband and loved it. It was my first experience in a deluxe resort. I would love to go back but the high price tag is what is holding us back. With the money I have to spend on the Poly I could pay for a whole other Disney trip later down the road. He is still willing to consider it if Disney releases a room discount.
My other option is BC which I have never been to. I really love the nautical look of the whole place and think the kids would have a blast in those pools. It is a little less expensive than Poly but my husband says he still prefers the Poly.
The last option is that we try to do a split stay. 4 nights at POFQ and 2 nights at Poly or BC. Will this be too hard on us since we then are moving to Hard Rock at Universal.
MY husband thinks the kids are too young to see the difference between POFQ and the deluxe and thinks it money lost but is willing to change if it make me happy. What do you think I should do?
