Big Change to Cinderella's Royal Table. Good or Bad?

I don't mind the characters either way, but they could've left dinner without the princesses for those wanting to eat in the castle without doing a character meal.

I agree. I'm glad I got the chance to eat there before the character meal.

I scheduled it for 8:30 hoping for a "romantic and beautiful setting" dinner with dh on our first trip w/o kiddos. That was before the change. Does anyone know if we tell our server that we'd like the princesses to skip us, if that is a possibility? I think we'd, as adults/no kids, feel very odd talking and getting pics with face characters.

I don't know, but I would hope that's a possibility! If not I won't be going back to CRT. DH and I enjoyed our dinner there last June, but it was weird enough just chit-chatting with Cindy for the photo. To deal the whole slew of princesses...no thanks!

Other posters are glad for the change because they were "limited" to just breakfast and lunch before...those of us who don't want to deal with characters were limited to just dinner and now don't even have that option. I would've liked to see them add a princess dinner available somewhere outside of a park (1900PF maybe?) and keep CRT dinner as is. It was the perfect silly-sappy-romantic atmosphere (it's the castle! Bistro/AP/etc just can't compare) and I will miss it.

I think at any character meal location, you can request from your server that the characters skip you. I think they'll just wave to you as they go by. I was told this is a possibility for my solo trip. I just ended up doing no character meals.

I really enjoyed the dinner at CRT - loved how they'd sing Bippity Boppity and the show with the fairy godmother.
Last few trips we've been doing lunch - and main reason for me is the major domo's pie! YUM!!! But otherwise, prefered the dinner there. My girls liked it, too - usually we'd also do Akershus and we'd see the princesses there. But really thought CRT's dinner was fun just the way it was. oh, well!

Beginning February 7, guests dining at Cinderella's Royal Table will have a new Fairytale Dining experience. Joining Cinderella at all three meals will now be her Disney princess friends. The Fairy Godmother will no longer be at these meals, but Cinderella will still greet guests for photos as they enter dinner. Prices will remain the same.

Do you think this is a good change or a bad change?

Hope to have some reviews posted soon on this change.

Just got back from the Disney and we went to CRT on 2/25 and it was awesome never went to the FG version, but this place was packed with princess and they spent time talking to the kids. Snow White was awesome we saw her again next day at akershurs and she regonized my son called him by name and gave him a big kiss with her bright red lipstick

We ate dinner at CRT in November 2009. Before our trip, I was concerned about dinner not being a character meal. But since my daughters were 10 years old, I figured dining in the Castle would we a wonderful experience with or without characters. And I have to say, I was presently suprised . The girls felt honored to have their picture taken with Cinderella and then the Fairy God-mother and the mice put on a very entertaining and fun show. Even though, all the princesses were not there, I definately considered it a character meal. I have to say it was my favorite dining experience while we were at WDW. There is something so special about eating at the castle, our food was delicious, and we had the most wonderful waiter -he was attentive and into character himself. My daughters felt like princesses.princess:

We loved the CRT dinner the way it was. It was a character experience without the autographs and it was a pleasant change from the other character meals. DD was 5 on our last trip and she really enjoyed the CRT dinner. DH and I found it to have a nicer atmosphere than the lunch.

I will miss it as we were planning to do it on our upcoming trip.

At this time in my life, I like the change too. Since CRT was a must do for our group of 5 kids, I'd rather spend the 2 TS credits on dinner than breakfast. I do recall dining in the castle with my DH (boyfriend at the time) on our first trip to WDW together. It was romantic. So I'm said for the loss of that.
