Ok so of the approx 200 people who have been on BB since inception name me a "star"?
Tell me who went on to achieve large TV success? I just asked 10 people in my office who Jeff was and it was like when I talk to my dog. Head tilt & stare. None of these people are gonna be "stars" Why would you give up 500K for a chance you might become a Z lister or maybe a mildly popular, with BB fans, youtube persona.

Other than those of us who watch, discuss and speculate on BB, noone one cares.

I remember some names from past seasons but can't tell you what season they were on. I watch and then forget it once it is over. It's usually just entertainment to me. This season not so much.

Most people would not give up 500k. But but what if Christmas was cast as a sort supporting houseguest (actress) and she knew when signing the contract that she was not there to win?

The whole point of this game is to be locked in a house with no outside contact. Christmas got to leave for hospital stays, doctor appts. and physical therapy. I don't understand why she was allowed to stay after her injury.

Every year, the houseguests think they are going to be famous after the season - they talk about it. The reality is, they aren't, but that never seems to matter. Some of them have had other opportunities (Survivor, Amazing Race, etc.) so I think that is appealing to a lot of them.

Yes, it's crazy. Honestly, like I said a while ago, it would not surprise me one bit if they went in with the understanding from production and network that there was no chance of them winning. I just can't fathom any other situation that would even come close to explaining their game play.

Wednesday's episode was a screaming validation of this -- it was so obvious that they fed Paul the answers. He didn't play to win all season and now wins during the one that also allows him to play HOH next time, too. My DH and I decided we're done -- this season was so obviously rigged and controlled and scripted -- and torturous to watch!

You do realize he owns his own clinic/practice. He is a fellow with the American Academy of Dermatologists. He is probably the most intelligent & shrewd player ever. Most of his money is Dr money, BB opened a door and he ran with it.

I think people choose him because he is a darn good Dermatologist and sits on several medical panels as well as a teaching fellow. Pretty sure people pick their surgeons on skill not reality TV.
