BIG Blisters & Not Much Disney (Sadly!)

A bit later today I am going to upload a brief trip-report of our family trip in 2004, with pictures as I've finally learnt how to post them!

Here is one picture as a taster...

I can't really remember how this trip came about, but it was booked quite a long time in advance (at least a year) to coincide with my Sister's wedding. This trip was to be their 'Disneymoon' - sadly not the romantic trip for 2 they envisaged - me, DBF (now my hubby) and our parents tagged along for the ride!!!

The cast...

Me - Joo!

My Mum and Dad (step Dad, but really my Dad). We call them M&V and / or the Worms. I don't know how the name 'Worms' came about, but its kind of stuck for the last few years! They're a fantastic Mum and Dad and I love them so much - we're really close. We're always spending time together and having a laugh!

My sister did most of the planning in terms of getting around the theme parks - i.e. choosing which rides to do and when... but I put together our 'daily schedule' detailing what we would be doing on what days.

After spending the majority of our previous trips in Villas... we knew we wanted to stay on-site at Disney for this trip. We were trying to make it as special as possible with it being Karen & Rob's Honeymoon and also my hubby's first time. I can't remember how we chose our hotel, but we went for Port Orleans Riverside (FQ was being refurbished during our trip I think).

After a great flight and a smooth bus transfer (I don't know if it was Magical Express, probably not? but it definitely was a Disney bus!); we arrived at POR. The Worms had paid for a room upgrade (water view I think) and they were situated in the lovely white mansions. The rest of us were miles away in the Alligator Bayou section. I know our rooms are only for sleeping, but we like to hang out with each other every now and again and it was a pain with the Worms being so far away. You know what's coming... our terribly irritating family habit of switching rooms! Luckily we hadn't un-packed anything as no sooner had we arrived at the room, Dad was telling us he'd arranged for us all to be in the white mansion rooms (can't remember the building name!!!) - this is a little fella we met on the way...

2221994875_edaf54dd5c_m.jpg

Our rooms were great, we all had KING beds except the Worms - they're terrible and love seperate beds when they're on holiday!!! One of my favourite memories from the trip was having a 'bed picnic' in my sister's room during a HUGE thunder-storm. We had been to DTD in the morning and then to the supermarket to get lunch for an outside picnic on one of the boats at Port Orleans... just as we arrived back at the hotel, the downpour came so we spent 2-hours hanging out and laughing loads together, eating delicious sandwiches in my sister's hotel room. Silly thing when you think about it, but all the same, one of my most favourite times. Here are a few pictures from when we finally got out on the boat:

I thought I'd post a few notes and photo's about food!!! Our family LOVES our food. We realised the other day we live to eat, not eat to live!!! Its terrible, but some of our best family times together have always been about food!!! hee hee

We didn't know anything about ADR's (I know, the horror!!!) before our last trip so were one of those amusing families who tried walk-ups to get seated at theme park restaurants... you can probably guess we didn't have a lot of luck! The only Disney / theme park restaurant we ate at was Tony's Town Square in MK - we all loved it and it was worth the HOUR wait because we were walk-ups!

We also ate at Rainforest Cafe, for breakfast on our day at AK. You might remember me mentioning it beforehand, but another great family memory and family tradition involves us forcing Dad to drink Orange Juice. He never drinks it, its too 'tart' for him and he pulls the funniest faces. We just HAVE to do it though! Here is a picture for your amusement!!!

2222784988_c9db625cb4_m.jpg

Other places we ate out at and loved ... H**ters!!! We also love the Outback Steakhouse and its another family tradition, we always have to go. This came from the trip when M&V got married... the only restaurant at our hotel serving dinner was fully booked the night they got married so we headed out in the rental car and ate at the Outback. In our wedding outfits!!! Yes, we ate steak, ribs etc. in our wedding outfits!!!

A few more pictures...

Hubby and I had breakfast at the CS place in PO most mornings, he had fruit and then an Omlette and I always had pancakes!!!

Not sure where this was, definitely DTD though! One of my sister's friends was holidaying in Orlando too, so we met up with her for dinner one night!

More coming soon...!!!

Hey Joo! I just got all caught up and I'm loving it! Your wedding pictures were gorgeous, and I loved the pictures from your past trip. You all look like so much fun! Your plans look great, too. We always spend a lot of time doing the non-Disney things in central Florida and they're a lot of fun. The Kennedy Space Center is especially great so make sure to fit it in somewhere. It's nice to see some other sides of Florida!

I'm definitely looking forward to more.

Hi neighbour (I'm from the Netherlands ;))!
I just read your Pre-TR and loved it! :thumbsup2
I'll definately keep reading here!

Hi Marjol - glad you're enjoying it! I work with a lady from the Netherlands - couldn't tell you where though, but she's lovely and I love hearing about her life there!

Just lurking and reading!!

Good - keep lurking and keep reading!!! x

Aw, cute family pics! Thanks for sharing! :goodvibes

Glad you like them! I hope to add more very soon ...

hi there! welcome to the USA and have tons of fun!!!

Thanks!!!!

Hi!!! So glad you're enjoying it! That's what I love about your reports and plans too, you go to lots of other places - as much as I'd love two weeks of pure Disney, I think my family would go nuts (I know - its outrageous they're not as obsessed with Disney like I am!!!) Hubby can't wait to see Kennedy Space Center and we can't wait to see Gatorland!!! I've also sold them on Margaritaville for dinner one evening, it was the margarita volcano that sold it to them!

Hi all,

It's been a while since I picked up the trip planning for our forthcoming holiday - not sure why, but it just kind of got put aside!

We've had a few more discussions about our itinerary for the trip so here is the updated version...

30 June - arrival in Orlando, check in to our Villa, do a big food shop and generally relax & settle in!
1 July - straight in to the holiday (DISNEY!) mood, we're off to Magic Kingdom with an early Character Dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern.
2 July - Going to Gatorland in the morning and the boys would like to go shooting at a gun range in the afternoon. Hubby and I will be meeting up with my friend from work who is also on holiday in Disney at this time!!!
3 July - another theme park fix... this time Universal Studios!
4 July - a relaxing day... shopping at the 'Mall at Millenia' with lunch at the Cheesecake Factory (the boys choice, they LOVE their Cheesecake!). Nearer the time, we hope to find something fun to do for the 4th July Celebrations - maybe some fireworks? If anyone can recommend anything, please shout!
5 July - road trip to Kennedy Space Center! Hubby really wants to go and we think it'll be good fun getting in the car and going somewhere different.
6 July - thrill ride heaven at Islands of Adventure... this may end up just being Hubby and I as Mum isn't keen, but we'll see!
7 July - day at the Beach! The boys choice again (!!!) and hubby hopes to find somewhere that he can do a PADI dive with the qualification he gained on our Maldives honeymoon.
8 July - the water theme continues with a day at Sea World.
9 July - another relaxing day... we check out of the Villa the next day so want to get packed and tidy up (Mum will go cleaning mad!). We're also planning on going to Downtown Disney for a shop of shopping in the late afternoon and if my powers of persuasion work, I am going to try and get them all to Beaches and Cream to try out the Kitchen Sink!
10 July - depart the Villa for the Animal Kingdom Lodge Hotel, drop off our bags only (we'll do check in later!) and get to Hollywood Studios as soon as we can.
11 July - up early for the Safari and a Character Breakfast at Tusker House - its Animal Kingdom day, the Worms absolute FAVE!
12 July - another Disney Day but as yet, unallocated... it'll probably be Magic Kingdom, but the Worms may choose to go back to Animal Kingdom on their own.
13 July - a day at Epcot, we might do an early morning, but nap in the afternoon type day as we have dinner reservation at Le Cellier in the evening and would like to stay to the end to watch Illuminations.
14 July - we're going home :sad2: ... our flight isn't until about 6pm so I have suggested going to Animal Kingdom for a couple of hours in the morning, but Mum gets all funny on the last day and we generally always end up sitting around doing nothing!!! So wait for the trip report to find out what she made us do!

So no major changes in the plans, but a few!

Its only 118 days away now (I think!) and we're all getting so excited. My horrid Dad joked and said we should postpone the trip until 2009 and spend mine and hubby's 30th birthday's out there - Mum and I were like NO WAY!!! We'll go without you! We are so NOT postponing this trip!!! hee hee

Instead, I have told all of my family (parents, brothers and sisters) that I want all of us to go the Disneyland Paris for my 30th!

I'm going to try and write a more detailed plan of what we'll be covering each day so keep reading please!!!

So much fun to read :-)
Looking forward to more

Gosh I freaked out a bit when I saw your post and thought my sister was stalking me! Her first name begins with a K and her last name is Lacey!!!

Thanks for reading! I'm hoping to add a bit more very soon as we've had a few fun plans added to the trip!

Day 1 - Monday 30 June

Even though we are staying at an airport hotel the night before, there is no doubt we will still get up ridiculously early today! Well Mum and I will… and we’ll drag the boys up kicking and screaming too! Depending on whether or not we have checked in online or checked in the night before, we will make our way to London Gatwick Airport between 2-3hrs prior to the flights departure.

Our flight to Orlando will take approx. 9hrs. :sad1: I hate flying and I am NOT looking forward to a 9hr flight at all. Lets hope there are some good movies showing and the upgrade to Premium Economy was worth it!!! :thumbsup2 I will probably take one small book, but hate taking hand baggage on flights so try and pack as light as possible for a flight. I bought a baggallini after reading a trip report on here and a girl mentioned it a lot. So I'll be using that!

On arrival at Orlando Airport, we’ll have to go through immigration, collect our bags etc. so we don’t expect to be on our way to collect our hire car for at least an hour after we land. We’ve booked a luxury sized car but at the moment, don’t know who it’s with. I’m hoping to buy some software to download to my hubby’s sat nav system so we can do away with tons of maps etc. and just pre-programme all of our Orlando destinations.

We expect to arrive at Ginn Reunion Resort at 5pm ish fingers crossed… we’ll dump our bags and have a brief look around, but I think we need to try and head to the supermarket straight away to stock up on food, drink, snacks etc. We will go to Publix as we LOVE Publix!!! There is also apparantely one very close by.

Day 2 - Tuesday 1 July

We wanted to hit a theme park on our first full day and what theme park is better than the Magic Kingdom!!! We’ll make it a short day out as we will all still be fairly tired and possibly jet-lagged from the long trip.

I can’t wait to arrive on Main Street, you all know there is just nothing like that first feeling when you get there!!! Depending on what time we get up and arrive at the Magic Kingdom, we will have a slow walk up Main Street and I think we will head off to Adventureland to begin with and make Pirates of the Caribbean our first ride! We all love it, it’s a Disney classic! If its morning snack time, as we’re here, I’ll try a Dole Whip!!! I can’t wait!!! :yay:

When we’ve been to Magic Kingdom before, we’ve tended to go left and work around the park in a clock-wise direction; its worked for us in the past so I think we’ll stick with that and see where things take us. We might sound totally bonkers but we’re never fussed or obsessed with queues (LINES!) and fastpasses. We’ll probably skip a ride if the wait is more than an hour, but for us, its all part of the fun and we don’t feel in the past we’ve ever missed out on anything because of big queues. We tend to make our park days very very long!!!

We have an early evening ADR at Liberty Tree Tavern. I’m really excited about it and can’t wait to try a thanksgiving family style dining character meal!!! Depending on how we’re feeling, the plan is to head back to the villa after dinner but we might get a second wind and soldier on!

Day 3 - Wednesday 2 July

Today is a fairly relaxing day… we are going to get up early-ish and head over to Gatorland for the morning. On our first ever trip to Orlando, we went to Gatorland and thought it was fun, however it wasn’t an attraction we wanted to do again and again! But since this trip is all about doing new (well old) things! We thought it was a good idea and I know what hubby is like, he’ll really think its cool! All those years ago we brought a plastic / rubber Gator which we named “Florigator” :rotfl: and he still keeps guard in Mum and Dad’s kitchen!!!

After a leisurely morning at Gatorland, the plan is for the boys to go shooting at a gun range. I’m not sure what made them want to do this last time, but we all went to one right on the northern outskirts of downtown Orlando. Considering we were random tourists, the chaps in the gun range were incredibly nice to us and very accommodating with our million questions about guns etc. So the boys want to go back! Mum and I are definitely not keen, but we will hang out with them or wander around the area if there is anything for us to look at! We’ve found a couple, not too far from Gatorland, around the Orange Blossom Trail area, so we’ll just drive up and see what happens!

Then it’s back to the villa for showers and a change of clothes as hubby and I are going out!!! Randomly, my friend at work is in Disney with her family too! (although they leave on the 3 July when we’ll have only been there for 3 days). So we are going out with her and her hubby, probably to downtown Disney for a meal and a few drinks. I was thinking about checking out some of the other resort restaurants though, but perhaps we might be too late for an ADR? Maybe Ohana’s at the Poly or maybe the Boardwalk might be nice? Anyway, I do need to think about that or it’ll be too late to arrange anything! Fiona and her hubby are staying at the Grand Floridian and I suggested we meet there, but I think they will have eaten their way through the restaurants so far!!!

Day 4 - Wednesday 3 July

Time for another theme park fix today! We’re going to Universal Studios for some movie fun! Rides we MUST do at Universal include: Shrek4D, The MUMMY Returns, Twister, Jaws, Men in Black, ET and probably loads more that I have forgotten. Hubby is REALLY looking forward to riding the Simpsons if it is open by then (I think it will be). Although I might protest and refuse to ride it ever because I am just absolutely gutted that Back to the Future is gone forever! It was possibly one of my all time favourite rides and when I read online it was closing, I was so so sad!!! :sad2:

With Universal, we tend to just hit all of the big rides that we want to do and then leave. We’ve never spent a lot of time just relaxing and wandering around. I think it might be nice to do that a bit more this time depending on how things go.

One thing I must remember to do is look to see if the Psycho House is still there… its probably long gone to Universal Ride heaven along with KONG (but I will forgive Universal for that as I love the MUMMY Returns!) and BTTF :sad2: I just have lovely memories of Universal from our first ever trip to Orlando… memories that include taking some really fun, happy pictures in front of the creepy Psycho House! We also brought one of the hotel bells and had it at the bottom of our stairs for years after. Mum and Dad would ‘ring’ it when they wanted me or my Sister to go downstairs - very effective!!! You know I think we still have it somewhere but its broken and doesn’t ‘ring’ again… Anyway!

I’m going to see if I can reserve a table at Margaritaville in City Walk for an early-ish dinner. After reading about it loads on babieemelly's trip reports I am just desperate to try it!

I was doing a lot of reading and researching online a few weeks ago and came across the different 'backstage' type tours that Disney offers at some of the parks. The Magic Kingdom is, hands downs, our favourite and so what better tour to take the 'Keys to the Kingdom'!!!

I was really worried I'd left it too late to book, but I rang WDW-PLAY a few nights ago and, hurrah, they still had space on the morning we wanted!!! :woohoo:

So we're booked to do the Keys to the Kingdom tour on the morning of 12 July. It'll only be me, Mum and Dad doing this - hubby has decided to rest that morning and check out the swimming pool at the AKL. He LOVES our holidays to Florida, but he is not a Disney nut like me and M&V are. He's fine spending a bit of time on his own, we'll have spent nearly two weeks together by then anyway!!! We might need a rest!!! :rotfl:

Another piece of fun to add... a few days ago, my parents amazingly said they were going to treat us to the holiday and they wanted me to use my work bonus as spending money (food & shopping, gifts etc.) Hubby and I can't believe their generosity and aren't sure we can ever repay them!

We want to thank them in a BIG way so I suggested to hubby about doing one of the Celebration Cruises in the evening. He thinks its a great idea, and knowing my parents, they will love that "we have chartered our own private boat to watch the fireworks" blah blah! So on Saturday 12 July, we are going to do the Wishes Cruise! We have booked a boat (pontoon?) with the package that includes drinks & snacks and also music and narration to the show. I just know my parents are going to love it!!! And hopefully this is one of many nice things we can do for them to say thanks! :grouphug:

That's it for updates at the moment! We had another planning session at the weekend and our itinerary is now fully decided (I'm going to be PDF'ing it and laminating it so that's IT!!!) I'll post it after I've finished writing the detailed itinerary info.!

Day 5 - Friday 4 July

It’s the Fourth of July!!!

This has been a hot topic in our family for years now… we have been to America (not just Orlando… New York and Vegas) over the July Fourth weekend a few times before and we have never managed to actually doing anything particularly fun or exciting!!! :confused3 The last two trips to Disney have been over the July Fourth weekend and my Dad has gone nuts because we’ve never done anything special for it. I know we’re not Americans, but as they say… when in Rome… !!!!!!!! :rotfl: So I have been doing a lot of online searching and think I’ve found some ‘traditional’ type parades, parties, events, firework shows etc. We will decide on this much nearer the time, but at least we know there are plenty of options for us!

In the morning, we’re going to get up early and go shopping to the Mall at Millenia. We went once before and loved it, it was huge and there were loads of great shops.

Lunch will be spent at the Cheesecake Factory! Apart from the fact hubby and Dad are massive cheesecake nuts, we love the food there anyway, so that is where we’ve decided to have lunch.

Depending on the time, we will go straight to the Fourth of July celebrations or we might have time to nip back to the villa to change and freshen up.

Day 6 - Saturday 5 July

Road trip!!! :yay: Today we are embarking on a bit of a road trip, to Kennedy Space Center! We went once, years ago, and really had a great time - we went on the day of a shuttle launch, but got lost and never made it to KSC to see the launch in time, we just parked on the roadside and saw it in the distance and then carried on to KSC afterwards!!! Anyway, it was another one of those things we didn’t desperately want to do on every trip but hubby saw it in one of our books and asked if we could go. I’m sure a lot has changed since we last went so it’ll be good to see what its like!

I have no idea how much of today will be spent at KSC, but we’ve agreed if there is time on the way home, we’ll try and find somewhere to do a bit more shopping and if we don’t fancy that, we’re looking forward to chilling out at the villa and relaxing. We’re hoping the villa has BBQ facilities as we thought tonight would be an ideal opportunity to have one of those.

I’m hoping today will be a fairly slow-ish, relaxed day!

Day 7 - Sunday 6 July

Ok, so today we’re back to the fun stuff, the REAL fun stuff - more rides and theme parks! Today we’re going to Islands of Adventure! :woohoo: We’ll get there early again and try and pack in as many rides as we can. Last time we purchased the Universal Express passes which meant we could go in the Express Pass line (like Fastpass) once for each major ride. It cost a bit extra, but meant we got on all the big rides fairly quickly and we had the rest of the day there to do the not-so-major rides! We might do that again, but I think we’ll see how we feel on the day. I am a bit worried about IOA as Mum doesn’t do the big rides and I don’t want her to be bored whilst we’re all going on them. I think we need to see how this day goes as it might not work out as we planned…!!!

Rides we definitely HAVE to do include Hulk and Spiderman - they’re just fantastic!

Day 8 - Monday 7 July

Back to some R&R today… we have plans to go to the beach! This could change depending on the weather forecast, but I’m hoping we’ll be good to go! :thumbsup2

Hubby, Dad and my sister and her husband went last time and Mum and I went shopping at Downtown Disney (it was soooo much fun; me, Mum and Dad’s credit card!!! We got the boat from POR, had such a lovely relaxing time together, had a delicious lunch at Earl of Sandwich - was a FAB day!). Mum and I aren’t into beaches. At all. :sad2: We’re not sand lovers!!! But it would have been a bit random if we’d sent hubby and Dad off to the beach on their own  so I said I’d be happy to go this time and eventually, good old Mum, bless her, agreed to forego the shopping and come to the beach too!

Hubby REALLY wanted to find some diving today. He did his PADI qualification on our honeymoon in the Maldives and thought it would be amazing to go on a dive in Florida. However, he’s struggling to find anything that looks suitable for him and it’s proving to be much more costly than he was expecting. So that is on hold and he’s now hoping he’ll be able to find somewhere to rent a jet-bike or a beach quad-bike which he did last time apparantely.

Again, I’m not sure how much of today will be spent at the beach and driving there and back, so we have no definite plans for the late afternoon / evening. I’ve suggested if there is time, we go to the Florida Mall and spend a couple of hours there. The Florida Mall is another one of those places that just brings SO many great memories back for us. I bought my favourite EVER pair of flip flops from Nine West in 2004 and it was only in November 2007, at the end of our honeymoon, did I finally give in, and throw them away. I wore them to death, every day of summer, without fail - they had totally had it! Oh but they were so cute and sooo comfy! And they’re gone :sad1: sorry, I went off tangent there…

So after the Florida Mall, its back to the villa for dinner and an early night as we still have tons of theme parks to visit and we need our beauty sleep!

Day 9 - Tuesday 8 July

Its Sea World day!!! We love Sea World!!!

Randomly, my Dad wants to park at the hotel across the street and walk over to Sea World. I’m not sure what the hotel is called now, but it used to be the Sheraton World Resort and that is where M&V got married!!! All those years ago… (the date is in my signature, I don’t know it without looking!). My sister and I were bridesmaids. We had these awful, awful dresses. They were covered in flowers and so very very old lady! Mum also wouldn’t let us wear shoes - very strange, to this day, we still don’t know why! So anyway, Dad wants to visit the hotel to re-live good memories from their wedding day. It’ll be fun going back I think!

Sea World never takes us a full day, so after seeing the Shamu show, riding Kraken and seeing those adorable little penguins, plus loads more - we’re going to head out to International Drive for a little ride along and see where that takes us! (probably lost knowing my family!)

I know you’re all thinking “where’s the Disney stuff???” But I promise I am finally getting to the Disney part!!!
:woohoo:

Day 10 - Wednesday 9 July

Today is supposed to be an ‘official’ full free day - but the planner that I am, couldn’t resist organising a few activities! We are checking out of the villa tomorrow, so we need to get packed and tidy up. I am SUPER messy on holiday so need to get my bum in gear and sort myself out.

In the afternoon the boys are going to play golf (providing they have arranged this when we first arrive at the Resort) and Mum and I are going to Downtown Disney for some more ‘me, Mum and Dad’s credit card’ time!!! :cheer2: Yay! We couldn’t miss out on this now could we???!!!

I’d like the boys to come and join us at the shops so they get a bit of time to look around (hubby loves the huge sports store!), but we’ll see how things go.

It is my intention to drag everyone over to Beaches and Cream in the late afternoon as I’d REALLY like to try out the kitchen sink… I’ll let you know if they succumb!!!

Day 11 - Thursday 10 July

FINALLY - we’re off to DISNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hurrah, yay, whoo hoo!!!

We’re checking out of the villa this morning and heading over to the Animal Kingdom Lodge. We’ve pre-paid for Savannah room views and I have requested rooms on the Zebra Trail (I think) so we are nearer to the pool, restaurants etc.

I’m so excited to be staying there - it’s a Disney deluxe resort and we get to wake up with the animals!!!

After we have checked in and dropped our bags off at the left luggage place (we are assuming that we’ll get there too early to be able to check in), we’re going to get on our first Disney bus and go to Hollywood Studios!!! (Going to find it hard not to call it MGM!!!)

I’m so excited about Hollywood Studios - its definitely one of my favourite parks! Rides we can’t wait to do include… Backlot tour, Star Tours, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Tower of Terror, RnR Coaster, the Great Movie Ride and TONS more - all of them!!! We have a lunch reservation at Sci-Fi Dine In, I’m sooo looking forward to that, it’ll be great!!!

We’ll probably spend all day here and leave when we’ve done everything we want to do and seen everything we want to see. If time permits, I might suggest a little trip to Downtown Disney again or perhaps we can catch a movie at West Side!

Day 12 - Friday 11 July

Its Animal Kingdom day today! Mum’s favourite, she just LOVES it. We’ve got a VERY early ADR at Tusker House for a character breakfast and will head over to the Safari for our first ride. We love the safari and even though there is a new headliner at AK in the form of EE, we just have to get on the safari first, we love it! Next I think we’ll do the Kali River Rapids, so we have a bit of time to dry off. Depending on the show times, we definitely have to see Festival of the Lion King, fingers crossed there is a show that fits in with the plans! After that, I think we will head over to Expedition Everest and either wait in the queue or grab a fastpass. We also want to do DINOSAUR and Tough to be a Bug!

We will probably be very full from breakfast to want anything for lunch, but I’d quite like to grab something light at Pizzafari. I LOVE Pizza, its absolutely my favourite food EVER and it’d be great to try out Pizzafari!

As Animal Kingdom is a fairly small park, we tend to get everything we want to see / ride done quite quickly, so I think this afternoon we’ll see how it goes, but perhaps it is another opportunity to relax and swim at the pool or perhaps go to Downtown Disney if there are still things we want to look at / buy there. I’d also like to do the miniature golf at Blizzard Beach (Winter Summerland I think it’s called?) if we get time, but it’s not a do or die activity, something fun if we get the chance!

For me, our trips to Disney are even more magical because I love remembering previous trips and amazing times we have had as a family. I love my family dearly and hubby & I are very very close to my Mum and Dad, this trip is just going to be amazing and I can't wait! :grouphug:

As my signature says, this could be our last trip to Florida for a long time... hubby and I wish to start our own family. In fact, we have started trying already! (I can tell you because its the internet right? - not allowed to tell family and friends we are trying to conceive!!!).

So I want this trip to be all about memories and re-live those fun-filled memories from past trips, but also I want to make sure I create new memories - the first one being - this is my first trip to Disney with a HUSBAND!!!

So as well as an attempt to get myself some more readers... :rotfl: I have amended the title of my pre-trip report (twice actually, but I've settled on the current title!) - hopefully it'll make it sound a bit more interesting and people might start dropping by. And if you don't... I don't mind! This report is for a bit of self indulgence - so I always have a recorded memory of my trip planning and, when we get back, a place where I can record details from our trip. Anyway, that all sounds a bit miserable!!! Back to the good stuff! :goodvibes

I have got myself a lovely little note book that has become my 'Disney Bible' with info. on day to day activities, lists of 'must do' rides and attractions, ADR info. etc. etc. I'll try and take some piccies this weekend to show it off (although its not THAT exciting! :upsidedow )

I'm also going to scan in our fun itinerary and share that with you!

Day 13 - Saturday 12 July

Today is going to be really fun - I’m VERY excited about it! Mum, Dad and I are booked on the Keys to the Kingdom tour! Hubby isn’t as interested in it as we are, so he’ll hang back at the hotel and swim and rest! I am so excited about the tour, it’ll be great fun! :yay: This should take out all morning for us, so I have not planned anything for the afternoon. We’ve talked about going back to one of the parks and / or going to Downtown Disney for more shopping (we love our shopping we do!) so we will see. I don’t want to waste the afternoon though, so have to motivate the troops to get off their bottoms and do something!

In the evening, just before Wishes, we have booked a 'Wishes Cruise' from the Polynesian. It’s a resort I love the look of, so I’d quite like to have a look around whilst we’re there. I hope M&V enjoy the Cruise, we’re doing it as a surprise for them, to say thank you to them for taking hubby and I on this amazing holiday. Nearer the time, I’m hoping to book chocolate covered strawberries and champagne!

Day 14 - Sunday 13 July

:sad1: This is our last full day. Tomorrow we have to go home! :sad1: :sad2: :sad1: :sad2: We’re spending the day at Epcot and luckily, it (currently) looks like its going to be an early magic hour day so we can get on the big rides before the crowds build up. We like Epcot, but its never been our favourite park and we’ve never appreciated it enough. I think we’ll see how it goes this year, but it is my hope that we will spend a lot more time here today, with a brief break back at the hotel to freshen up and rest before coming back in the late afternoon / evening. We rarely seem to make it to World Showcase, although on this trip we have to as we have and ADR at Le Cellier!!! This is the one meal (along with the Cheesecake Factory!) that I am REALLY looking forward too. The menu looks soooo yummy and the boys love their steaks so its going to be a real treat. Anyway, back to World Showcase, we definitely plan to have a look around as the last time we did it was a long long time ago, we didn’t go over at all during our 2004 trip, we just stayed in Future World.

Depending on times, how tired we’re feeling, how much packing is done / left to be done, I have indicated to everyone that we should head over to the Magic Kingdom and take advantage of the extra evening magic hours that are (currently) scheduled for today. What better way to finish off the holiday with where it all started! I know hubby will be up for it, so we’ll see if the Worms are!!!

Day 15 - Monday 14 July

Its home time :sad2: We don’t have to leave for the airport until around 2pm, so if we get up early, there is still the potential to go to one of the parks, or Downtown Disney :) !!! but we will see how it goes… Mum gets a bit stressed with packing and being ready to leave on time. She’ll make us be ready super super early so we might be bound by her rules and made to stay at the hotel before its time to go back!

Side Note - I can’t believe I am only writing about going home and now I feel all miserable!!!

Day 16 - Tuesday 15 July

I know you’re wondering why is she still writing plans when she’s back home and the holiday is well and truly over??? Its because today we pick up our babies!!! Hubby and I own two cats, Hugo and Sassy. They are Birmans and we LOVE them to BITS! We will drive straight from the airport (think we land at around 8am) to the cattery and take them home with us. I know it will be sad leaving our Disney holiday, but Rich and I feel that we can be happy-ish because we know our babies will be there waiting for us to take them home. I just know it’ll be brilliant the next time we see them!!!

Here are two pictures of them if you can't see them properly from my avatar!

So that’s it - our plans in a bit more detail, including specific, special little things we’ll be doing!

Hopefully I will find something else to write about soon and I will post a final itinerary as well!

Another title change from DisneyJoo ...
Sadly we lost our Henry Bean yesterday. I'm am going through a miscarriage and a very unhappy time. We are just all very very grateful that we have our Disney trip in 10-days ish time - we need it more than ever.
Hubby and I are totally devastated, we wanted our baby so much and he was already loved so much even though we only had him in our lives for just over a week.

:lovestruc CONGRATULATIONS!!!:lovestruc

When your title popped up in my e-mail I was like, "Gosh am I dissing in my sleep and signing up for new TR's???" Actually, I should apologize for not keeping up with your PTR. I haven't been on here much lately. We moved into a new home and that has been consuming my time.

Anyway, that is wonderful news for you and your DH! I love the nickname... so cute! :goodvibes

I caught up on all of your itinerary and it looks fantastic! Can I come? :hyper:

One thing I thought to suggest for your DH is the dive at Epcot! I just finished reading a TR where the men in the group did this and they thought it was great. They are all experienced divers that have been on many open water dives and they thought it was fantastic.
