Big baby in Baby Bjorn???

We are going in March to WDW with our then 10 month old DD.

She is already 20 lbs--so I'm guessing she will be at least 25 lbs by March.

Do you think the Bjorn will still be comfortable for her and for me?

That may be tough if you're not still wearing her on a regular basis, your back won't like it, and she's likely to kick you in the stomach on a regular basis if she's not still used to it. She may even be attempting to walk by then, and if so, she'll be very squirmy.

Have you tried a sling? Slings tend to have a longer useful life than front carriers, and they are easier to stash in a diaper bag when not in use. Take a look at the Maya wrap for examples of ways to wear the bigger toddler.

Based on my personal experience:

use a small stroller to navigate the park--I bought a Graco at Target or Walmart with a big basket and a tray for baby and tray with cup holder for the stroller driver, easily collapses for Disney transportation (cheap--under $30.)

use a baby sling for standing in line

My daughter is 18 pounds, almost 28 inches, and 9 months old, and we have the Bjorn Active Carrier and I can still carry her without too many problems. After long periods of time she does get heavy though and she sometimes stiffens her legs which makes it hard for me to walk. We just bought a Playtex Hip Hammock and we'll probably take that with us to WDW this week, in addition to the Bjorn. She seems a bit too small for it right now, but it's nice to be able to change her position.

I just took my 10 month old baby boy for a walk using the Bjorn. He is probably about 22-23 lbs. We usually use one of our strollers, but the Bjorn is still functional for us. For our trips to Disneyland, I usually use the stroller to navigate between rides and use the Bjorn in lines. Since he is getting heavy and Disney tends to be a long day for us, I enjoy the break while he is in the stroller. But the Bjorn is a lifesaver in the lines. Personally, I've tried to use a couple different types of slings, but I've always had trouble adjusting them to my comfort. If you do try a sling, I'd ask for recommendations from someone familiar with the different types. Also, if you have any friends that can show you how to use the slings, I think it would make a huge difference (since I could never successfully figure it out on my own).

We will definitely bring her stroller---we just bought a new Peg Pliko---but I was wanting something for waiting in lines. I've looked at the hip carriers, too.

And I never figured out the slings, either. I think I didn't use them enough and both of my DS's did not like them. I guess it's because of less freedom of movement for them??? All three of my kids have liked the baby bjorn, but I mostly use the stroller now for DD.

you might like a pouch style sling. they are easy to use and much easier to get on/off than a bjorn. i have a fleece pouch for my 2 month old and love it, i plan on getting a cotton pouch for my january trip from www.hotslings.com . dd will be old enough for a hip carry by then and it will be perfect for waiting in line.

I found as DS got bigger my Bjorn got really hot as I carried him around - my t-shirt in the chest area would be "spotted" with sweat and DS was hot too. I personally wouldn't want him on me for that long and would opt for a light stroller - we are looking at the MacLaren for our trip in Feb.

It may depend on how strong your back is. I had my husband carry the baby in the Bjorn when it started bothering me. Definitely bring a stroller, a nice comfy one, with cupholders and a big storage basket. You can check it at the gate in the airport. If you do use a carrier, make sure you let the baby spend a lot of time in BEFORE your trip.
