BIG American breakfast

I like Denny's IHOP and SIzzler for the buffet, I haven't tried Ponderosa (there are always queues) or Craker Barrel. I did the Black Angus once, and didn't like that as much at all, not so much choice and very dark.

If you want a really big buffet choice with character interaction then I don't think you can beat Chef Mickey. I agree with all the aforementioned.Loved IHOP. This Oct we are going to try Cracker barrell (Have you seen there menu!!!) Waffle House, Shoneys, Perkins and we were going to try Black Angus but not so sure now. Any comments good or bad gratefully received. Guys I am starving now!!!!!!!!!!!

Giddy Kipper
The Cracker Barrel is just up the road on the opposite side to the Big Orange on the 192 :cool1:

As an American, I weep when I hear people praising Golden Corral and Dennys for breakfast :)

If you've got a big family to feed and a buffet's important, I suppose you have to do what you have to do, but please believe that the chain places are NOT representative of the good breakfasts you can get in small Mom and Pop type diners.

Please ask on the other dining boards -- I bet there's somebody out there that can point to a great little cafe somewhere that will give you a real treat!

Daisax, coul;d you recommend some places in Orlando, it would be great to know where they are.

we always used to go to golden corral but recently imho they have started to look grubby and neglected - ponderosa is much lighter and airier and the food looks fresher - very good for breakfast and if you go 11am they are putting out the lunch stuff so you can have brunch for breakfast price!! :thewave:

Howdy, Folks
As an American who eats plenty of breakfast, there are only 2 real places to try. Bob Evans (great eats all the time, breakfast served at all hours), and Cracker Barrel. You won't get an all you can eat buffet, but you will get good service and a great meal for a reasonable price.

Lansing, Michigan, USA

PS The wife and I hang out on the UK boards because no one writes trip reports like a Brit and we're damned glad to have y'all visit.

I see another Michigander likes to frequent the UK boards.

Personally, I'm not a buffet breakfast fan, since it's far too much food for me and i can't possibly get my money's worth. But if I am going for breakfast, a good pancake house can't be beat. Unfortunately, the best one I know isn't in Orlando (it's in Birmingham Michigan, but i don't remember the name. It has a pink awning and is GREAT!!!! Maybe it's called the Pancake House?......).

We went to the Ponderosa's by Wet & Wild and that wasn't too busy and it was yummy yum yums!!

IHOP on the 192 every time. Wonderful breakfasts with pancakes on the side - yummy!!
