Biff's Enchanted Birthday Trip...Twas' the week before Christmas

We were dropped off in the front of the resort. We went to the couches located outside the Maya Grill.

This was taken at 12:56 that afternoon

Then I reached the Ranchos section

The pool area. I hate taking pics when people are there swimming.

Then I walked by the Cabanas.

I also asked if we could have the suitcase to grab a new pair of jeans but they said it was sent off already.

He is really feeling like a crap.

I then received an email from Jetblue that the flight has been delayed 2 hours. But we still need to catch the 2:45 ME bus.


I used the last credit we had left on a burger and fries.

Then we left for the airport….

Poor Biff, that last picture you can really tell he isn't feling good. I loved the pics of CBR and CSR. I debated between the 2 resorts and finally chose CBR. I'm still worried I made the wrong choice. The picture of that SUV gave me chills. I hope you start to feel better, my DH suffers from migraines and they are realy horrible. It's probably better that you don't risk the drive although I'm sure it's upsetting not to be able to go. Again to you and your family.

you took a picture of our building, it was a nice area over there, we never did go to the quite pools wish we would have, did not even think about checking them out.

that stinks they still made you get on the early bus, i would have just waited around and went later.

We SOLD!!!

The buyer met witht eh board last night and was approved this morning.

The realtor just submitted our application for the place that we want. Biff is nervous but I am not. It is a cash transaction so I think they will like him.

He just worries if they hate gay people. who knows.

Anyway that is my exciting news for the day.

The ride was sad as usual. I hate the ride back. We did have front seat so that was nice.

We get there and we get through security within 10 minutes. We then just go to the gate so Biff can relax.

We are assigned gate 110. It is now about 3:45 and our flight is not going till 7:30.

At 5pm they finally start loading the passengers for the 3:30 flight.

We are now moved to gate 112. Here is the view as we wait.

Tick tock, tick tock

7:30 they finally start loading us. We are airborne at 8:10. Now we should be landing at JFK at this time.

Biff had not eaten since this morning. He had some ginger ale and crackers on the plane.

I ended up watching “Elf” on the way home on TNT or TBS. Then I miss the last 10 minutes because we are landing at JFK.

Now we have landed. 40 minutes we sat on the tarmac waiting for a gate. We weren’t the only one. Several planes were waiting. We kept moving all around.

Luggage took 30 minutes come out.

Now comes the icing on the cake. We ordered a car. I called and told them we are there.
1 hour later it finally gets into the airport to pick us up. She said it took that long but I think she did another run because we were delayed.

Coming home she pulled off and exit and Biff questioned her. She replied, “I have been for 23 years”. I cracked up.

We get home after midnight. We are tired and Biff is just not feeling good. He is off to bed and I log onto Enchanted. Then I am off to bed.

I think the Moroccan restaurant is gorgeous! And the food is good you say? I might have to try this. Sidney says anything with coucous needs to be avoided. I think I might like it though.

You got some great shots of the Illuminations show. I need to sit and watch it next month. I don't think I've EVER watched the whole thing!? Crazy, I know.

Poor Biff...he had the worst luck with being sick this trip. I hate to hear that. It's no fun being sick at Disney. I do love the pic you took of him in the rasta hat!

Well here we are at my final thoughts of the trip. Let’s see.

Coronado Springs Resort:

• Gorgeous resort.
• Housekeeping was less than par. Garbage sat in the can for 4 days before it was finally emptied.
• Pepper Market is a waste with the tip situation. The food was decent but not worth to tip at a counter service.
• Rix Café was a great place to just grab a drink or snack. The banana nut bread is too die for.
• The room was beautiful. I did request a refurbished room and so glad I did. Every moderate resort should have rooms like this.
• Staff – no one was especially friendly. At Riverside when I walked around the cm’s all said hello or good morning. Not here. And the one in the gift shop telling me I will pay Disney prices was not so good either.
• Busses – These were hit or miss. Most of the time it was fine but there were several times where we stood there for 30 minutes or more waiting. Now I had this problem more than once at POP also. Only once at POR.
• Size of the resort. I here a lot of people saying it is huge. It really is not. It is so easy to walk it.

Theme parks:
Magic Kingdom was a lot fun. It was crowded but not too bad. The Christmas party was a joke. It was sold out and just slammed with people. Did not enjoy it and I was upset as P&PP was a highlight from my January trip.
Epcot was where we spent most of our days. We had a great time seeing all the movies in WS. We did see all the countries and I did drink around the world a little. Biff tried new rides and had a good time.
DHS is getting more and more of a park not to visit for me. Or if I visit I will be there to ride 3 rides then leave and go to another park. Loved Toy Story Mania. What a great ride that is. Loved it. It was also great riding RNRR for the first time. That launch was a whopper.
AK is one of my favorite parks only for the reason of photography. You can get some shots in that park. Still love Donald’s Breakfast. I am so happy we stayed for the parade. I discovered the paths this time and so happy I did.

Food:

• Doing the deluxe dining plan is not an option I will do again. It felt like we were constantly eating. I did like trying all the new places we went especially the signature restaurants.
• Most of the food was good. My favorite was Flying Fish. They make some incredible food there. My least favorite was Pepper Market. Waste of money with the tip and all for counter service food. No thanks. Not to mention they made Biff sick.

DME:

• Still one of the best options. Not having to haul the luggage everywhere is a great feeling.

Crowds:

• They hit or miss. Sometimes it was really crowded and other times it was not.

Decorations:

• It was so great to see the holiday decorations. The trees were gorgeous. The best for me were the Osborne Lights. Those were incredible. Seeing the castle light up also was a favorite.
• Now comes the down side. It took away from the magic for me a little. I like the castle the way it is. I like to see WDW just as it is. The decorations were a little distracting. I am very happy to say I have sent them.

Time of the year:

• It was a nice time to go. It was more crowded than I expected. Last January was so much less people. The weather was perfect. 80 degrees every day. It only drizzled once.
• End of January is still my favorite time of the year.

Jetblue:

• I love this airline. Granted we had a major delay on the way home but it really was not there fault as NYC did have a snowstorm the night before. Will definitely use them again.

JFK airport:

• NEVER again will I fly from this airport. It was just a nightmare.

Now for Biff’s final thoughts:

Coronado Springs:
Worst resort ever, poor housekeeping, refrigerator didn't work they replaced it with one with 3 legs so it rocked ( not in good way)

Favorite restaurant:
Seafood restaurant – Favorite - Coral Reef : Best waitress too I think her name was Joanne Big Blonde Girl very helpful & nice

Favorite ride:
Test Track Reduces grown men into screaming little girls

Favorite park:
Like all except downtown Disney

Christmas
Too crowded, but everyone was nice.

Favorite character meal:
Has to be Winnie The Pooh at the Crystal Palace

Dining plan:
Deluxe has lots of food but you can skip the desert at least you get an appetizer this way

Flights:
If they're on time fine by me

Magical express:
Always a treat they get your luggage

Decorations: A flower in your hair
Don't understand this one
(This one killed me. He had no clue what I was asking him)

And with that another trip report is done. I would like to thank everyone who stuck with me and read.

It was a great trip. The bad thing was Biff getting a cold. It really did not slow us down.
We had awesome weather.
The crowds were more than I expected but ok.

I was asked if I am going again. Well the Grand Gathering for me is off. I am really upset over this as I would have loved to have gone down with them as they are a great bunch to go with but that is my nephews confirmation weekend. Now I think I might be going down with my brother Steve and his wife and son. Stephen is 16 so we should have a great time. Hopefully that works out. That would be 6/19 – 6/26

And now the question of Biff's cold. It lasted for 1 1/2 weeks after our return. I got sick once we got back but Zicam knocked it out of me within 3 days.

I'm so sad to see this trip come to an end, Scott! I'm glad that you and Biff had a good time though, depiste the drawbacks. So sorry for Biff getting sick! That's the WORST, especially on vacation. I'm glad you're both feeling better now. Would Biff be joining you on your June trip? I'm not sure if he's a "Disney" person so I'm interested to hear if he'd like to go back anytime soon!

CSR is beautiful. Thanks for all those great pictures. I still haven't walked around the entire place (about half, so far), but I'll get to it eventually. The fountains and the architecture of the buildings are just awesome.

I'm hoping to see all the movies if I get to go in March. I have seen them all but China, but I want to repeat them all and add China, as well.

I love Animal Kingdom, too. I'm glad you got to see the parade and the path.
