Has anyone eaten there? While looking at their menu at allears it says the menu is from June 2005 and shows what will be served for Oktoberfest.

Is this their normal price and menu? If not, does anyone have a link to the new one?

We haven't had good German for 2 years and I think this is the meal Dh is picking out for our day in Epcot.

Thanks

Sheri

Found some more informatin on it, So to answer my question, yes they havet hese foods all the time.

new question is, has anyone eaten there? The website says reservations recommended. If we don't want to plan to eat at X time, what might our chances be to show up and ask for a table? 5 people <me, dh, an 11, 6 and 3yo>? We'll probably go to Epcot on the 10 or 11th. Saturday or Sunday less crowded at Epcot? Could go on Monday I guess if it's less crowded too.

I've eaten there twice before and enjoyed it both times. My dh, who spent 15+ years in Germany, says its pretty close to the real deal. I haven't really noticed a need for reservations before (I think this is one of Epcot's overlooked restaurants), but why not make them and just break them if you don't need them? You're no worse off that way.

Thanks for the info! Dh also spent many years in Germany, both as a kid and as an adult in the military and we're always trying to find authentic Germany foods. Came pretty close to it in Colorado and are hoping that this resturant has some long ago enjoyed food that Dh hasn't been able to get since.

We have been there 2x and loved it both times. There is a floor show that is very entertaining and fun, complete with dance floor to polka on. The decor is awesome. The food is really good, fresh pretzel bread, snitzel, sausage, cold salads, and yummy desserts. We have been to WDW twice in the past few years, and it was the only restaurant we "had" to do both times. You will love it.

As far as ressies go, not sure. We went in Sept., and had a 12 lunch, but after we found out the show didn't start till 1:15, we changed it right then, and they were fine with it. When we returned at 1, there was a short line at the podium, but not too major, and that was when free dining was on. It is a buffet restaurant, which holds more people in my opinion, as more servers can work more tables than at a regular sit down. The tables are set up Oktoberfest style, with 8 people to a table, from the same group or no.

Try it, I don't think you will be dissappointed! :goodvibes

In addition to what the other's have said, we feel it's a pretty good bargain, too. Very good buffet & a fun & entertaining show for $16 at lunchtime!

Hi! My dad loves this restuarant! Have been there many times and have always had an enjoyable experience.

I of course have tried things that I didnt care for, but that is the great thing about the buffet, you can try it all and fill up on what you love :flower:

This is one of our favorites, pretty much everyone else has said what I would say.

Do keep in mind, the tables are for 8 total people, and they will seat you with other parties. That's just the way of the restaurant, and it turns us off sometimes - we really have to be in the mood for it. Since it's a buffet, there's less time to get to know your seatmates (in our experience), and it makes it a little awkward.

the theme is "oktoberfest" so the menu is the same all the time. this was one of my favorite buffets. not crazy about the seating but our tablemates weren't obnoxious so it was fine.

we had an adr but some at our table didn't( mid Jan) so you might be ok if you are a little flexible with time

we loved our first experience at biergarten earlier this month. i fell in love with saurbraten (sp?) and potato salad and my picky eater fiance even found stuff to enjoy. i totally hate sitting with other people, but i can deal with it to get this food. as far as reservations go, i guess it depends on when you'll be in epcot because when we were there, several families were turned away around 5 since they were booked.

SheriN,

I know how you feel. My husband is German and we only get good german food if I make it. I'm american so my german cooking skills are very limited.

I last ate there in 2002 but it was good enough. I haven't had any "real" german food in the states but this will come pretty close. I remember the brats were good, they had sauerbraten which was tasty, spatzel and gravy (yum), potato salad (no one's can touch my mother in laws so I'm very biased), and the red cabage also. There was alot of other stuff on the buffet but I can't remember it all.

The entertainment was was fun. My husband sings along with the polka band and it cracks me up every time.

As far as reservations go, I can't advise. We usually go in October and we've always been able to walk up and get a table.

Funny, you will be there the same time we will. Now I'm thinking I need to make the reservation for the Biergarten.

Enjoy!

Another "yes" vote - this is one of our favorite restaurants, and we're kind of happy that it's a "hidden treasure" so it's easier to get in!

You will love it - not only is the food good, but the atmosphere is fantastic - great entertainment and dancing. We could have stayed there all night!

By the way, if you're ever looking for some good German food in the states, come on over to Wisconsin - great, authentic German restaurants all over the state (I live near Milwaukee and have lived in Madison, both of which had great German restaurants).

We love the Biergarten, this will be the first time we don't eat there because we want to try new places with the dining plan. Good value and we like the show too!

Always a must do place. One of the few that we still plan on hitting every time we go. Very good German food, and lots of choices.

I am so excited to read all these great reviews for Biergarten. We last ate there in January 2002 and DD was coming down with something that took us to the walk-in, antibiotics, rest of vacation in bed, etc. I think she might have had a little soup. I remember none of my meal; I was worried about her. When DD doesn't eat, you know something's wrong...

anyway, I have ADRs for Dec--can't wait to try it again!!

we love the biergarten at germany ws epcot we just ate there on our trip 2 weeks ago, the food was great. lunch was 16.99 each plus drinks. there is a menu at allearsnet.com enjoy!

Just got back from out of town and enjoyed reading all the positive things to say about the resturant! 11 more days to go and we'll finally get some good German food after a year Plus without it. I think the kids will get a kick out of eating with other people at our table, shoot my dd talks to everyone anyway so this will be right up her alley! LOL

Thanks again everyone!

Sheri

This is one of our favorite restaurants and usually go 2 times a trip. My kids love the band too.
