My family will be in the World in April, and want to try something new. My DH is thinking of Biergarten, because he loves German food. I know people either love it or hate it, but if anyone has been recently, and has any feedback, I'd appreciate it! Thanks!!

Yea I think the food is pretty tasty. They have chicken, salmon, and a variety of different sausages. And the dessert section is quite delicious with strudel and bavarian cheesecake.

I'm not a huge fan of having to eat with complete strangers but I just bury my head in my plate and devour the delicious food and wash it down with my delicious beer.

We went last trip and are going again. We liked the band, the kids got up to dance and had fun.

We like it too! The variety was nice because there was something for everyone in our party to eat. We loved the band, and my son enjoyed dancing.

My girlfriend and I enjoyed it on NYE (08-09). The food was ok, nothing fantastic but not bad either. The atmosphere was a lot of fun and the beer was flowing nicely that night. However, the experience may be affected by who you sit with and how your family reacts to sitting with strangers. It can either be very enjoyable and a lot of fun or, in some cases, it could be very uncomfortable.

We eat there the first night of every vacation. Sometimes you have a good table and others not so much. We are going in Jan and can't wait.

We enjoyed it in November 2009. No, the food wasn't the best of our trip, but it was good. We all found plenty to eat because there are a lot of choices. The reason we're going back there, though, rather than the Wave (excellent food, but the atmosphere was more run of the mill) is the fact that the atmosphere at Biergarten was SO much fun. It was both DH's and my choice for a return trip. The kids had a blast dancing to the music. We got to sit right by the dance floor. We heard the set THREE times, we enjoyed ourselves so much (it started when we came in, then we heard it while eating, then, when we were about to leave they came in again and the kids had to dance some more! You do sit with strangers, it didn't bother us. We just enjoyed our beer and some yummy food (my favorite was the pretzel bread with potato leek soup).

For us, it was the day Disney clicked for our family. It was a cool, drizzly day at Epcot. The kids were lukewarm on rides, but wow, Biergarten was such a blast and after that the Disney bug bit my DH.

I like Biergarten a lot. I like the interior design, the music, and the bier. The food is great and I think your husband would enjoy it. Some of the dishes in the buffet aren't too popular and some are. I think the reason is some is now standard American fare while the others require German heritage to have had at home.

A lot of people don't like sitting with other people, they of course have never been to an Octoberfest party before. The tables sit 8 so the people you sit with may or may not be social.

This is my must eat at place in WDW.

We highly enjoy Biergarten! I think the food is good, with a nice selection, and we love watching the oompha band. Where I live we really do not have an all german food restaurant, so this is a nice place for us to visit, where we cannot go at home. I say give it a try so you could find out for yourself! :goodvibes

It's my fave and I've eaten there for 25 years. Love the seating, unless I get stuck next to someone who buries their head in their plate.

We've enjoyed lunch there twice so far, most recently on November 16. Love the food and the atmosphere, we've been lucky enough both times to have friendly but not annoyingly so tablemates. My only complaint this time is that I was really looking forward to the potato leek soup but they had tomato bacon instead. Bleah.

We ate there a few months ago and had a good time. The best thing about this buffet is that there is something for just about everyone.

We were there last February for dinner, and we LOVED it. The food was very good, the atmosphere was so fun, the kids loved the show and the dancing. It's a must do now for all of us.

We have a reservation there for dinner on New Year's Eve. I'm very worried our party of 2 will get seated next to rowdy drunkards, especially since neither of us drink. Oh well, it will be worth it!

Eash post here seems to mention beer...I do understand that this is Germany we are talking about...my question about the meal is about beverages...is beer included with the meal as a beverage?:confused3

No, beer is not included. But you can get beer flights, beer in a stein as big as your head...lots of options!!!

We went to Biergarten in August at the suggestion of one of the CMs at the Beach Club. Had a great dinner and sat next to a really nice family. The entertainment was great too. We all loved the sauerbraten!! After our dinner we went right outside to see Illuminations...good location. In fact on another day during our vacation we went to the same area to view the show.

We loved Biergarten and walked away stuffed with awesome food. We did not mind sitting with others at all and we generally don't care for that. It was no biggie. We have ADR's for next week and cannot wait!!

:woohoo:
