what do you think of the Biergarten? can you get the meaun in German? what is it i was told it was a buffet? what did you get?

We have always enjoyed the Biergarten - not a must do, but fun. If you go to lunch, make sure you go late. The oom-pah band doesn't start until late. The buffet is pretty good. All kinds of sausage. The dinner buffet includes sauerbraten (?). Have a great trip!

We did it for the first time a few weeks ago and it was wonderful!

Great pork schnitzels and saurkraut, but they had LOTS of stuff on the buffet.

The Bavarian cheesecake was superb!

They also offer liter-sized beers. The band is fun and gets everyone to sing along and such. You sit at long tables with others, and thankfully we had a friendly family from Canada (hey, they were drinking those liter beers too!) and we all had fun at our table.

how late is late? we have a 2:40 ADR

DH and I love this place, awesome atmosphere, music, dancing and killer food! Tons of pics of the buffet in my March link

I don't remember exactly what we ate, but it was all delicious. As were the giant liter sized beers!!:thumbsup2

is the beer part of the meal, or do you pay extra for it?:confused3

2:40 is a great time to go. The show will be going at some point, and in between, enjoy your eighbors.
The beer is (much) extra. But well worth it.
I have never had dessert at Biergarten. I've wanted to, they look great. But the cold sausages, the schnitzel, those wonderful potatoes, the sauerbraten, the spaetzle, well, I guess you get the point. And lots of wurst salads, not that I waste space on anything called salad.

We LOVED the Biergarten when we went in July for dinner! We had a 5:30 ADR and got there early (like 5:15). We sat down before 5:30. The band started playing a show at 5:55 so it was perfect timing. Enough time to get some food, enjoy some of the beer sampler (highly recommended!), and then enjoy the show!! My kids enjoyed it too (ages 3 and 1, and yes even though they are little they loved it!!).

We enjoy really good German food. I read some really great reviews of the Biergarten and we decided to try it. I was a little nervous and not expecting it to be as authentic as the place we go to here in NY (my grandfather was German and there was only one German place he would eat in, the one we go to here at home). But we were very impressed with the food at Biergarten! It was well worth a TS credit on the dining plan. Excellent selection of German sausages, lots of meat, and great choices for little ones as well!! And try the pretzel bread with the sweet-spicy mustard!!!

I can't wait til Dec...Biergarten is our first ADR this time aound and it will be our first time eating there:woohoo:

We didn't enjoy it. That said, however, we are not drinkers and we don't really enjoy buffets. ;) Hope you have a good time!
