Spaetzle (pronounced SHPET-zull) is essentially the same ingredients as noodles. But the shape is much different. They are almost like very small, little yellow balls of noodles. The balls are similar in size to rice, but, of course, rounded.
Some are just boiled -- others, after they are boiled, they are lightly fried with butter. Not sure how Biergarten serves it.
And -- as previous reply said -- German cutlets are slices of meat literally pounded very thin with a wooden mallot. They can be chicken, veal or pork -- usually fried -- and all, very good!
