What do you recommend? I am looking for ADR at Epcot. I cannot decided between the two it will be me and my DD7. My dd has grown out of the princess phase so my restuarant options are wide open! I think she will like the food better at Garden Grill, but the entertainment at Biergarten.

Is the entertainment at Biergarten offered at only certain meal times or is it continous throughout the day?

Any other suggestions? I am looking for something a little different. Teppan Edo is out we eat hibatchi frequently and we have done Marrakesh.

I would go for Garden Grill...the food is way more kid friendly and when I ate at Biergarten there was no entertainment ... i think it is luck of the draw of when you eat there and how long you stay.

Garden grill is one of my favorites...it is circular and you slowly (very slowly) rotate around and you get some paintings to look and and at points you can see part of the living with the land ride. it is characters and you get farmer mickey, chip and dale and pluto.

Not sure what your plans were but the Garden Grill is only open for dinner...it is a family style meal so you get big plates (based on your party size) to share.

We love Biergarten--our kids always wanted to go there when they traveled with us (even our very picky eater enjoyed the food at Biergarten). Never been a big fan of the Garden Grill--granted we've not been in over ten years, but the two times we went--we were not impressed with the food at all and our kids didn't eat much of anything.

In all fairness, before I comment I will tell you I have never eaten at Garden Grill, so this is more of a suggestion as opposed to a comparison.

I have eaten at Biergarten each trip and as an adult I enjoy it. They have adult food that is yummy as ell as children's choices that they are certain to enjoy.

More imprtantly there is a band that plays every 30-45 minutes and they encourage children to get out on the floor and dance around. Parents can also go out, but if you want you can sit back and they dance around-great picture taking opportunity (yeah, like there aren't a lot of those already!)

Definitely Biergarten!!! The atmosphere, entertainment, and food are all awesome!!! There is plenty of "normal" food for picky eaters such as roasted chicken, pork, and schnitzel - which is really just breaded chicken or pork. Plenty of sausages too - some of them are very much like hot dogs. The desserts are delicious too, especially the Bavarian cheesecake!:thumbsup2

Wow.. That's hard because the two restaurants are very, very different. We happen to love both restaurants.

With Garden Grill as you said the food seems to be a little more kid friendly plus you have GREAT character interaction. We saw the characters (farmer Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale) about four times each. They really interacted with my daughter and Dale even played Peek a Boo with her for a few minutes while Chip was pretending to eat the Cheerios my daughter gave him. SO CUTE! :lovestruc We will definitely be back. Plus we love that the restaurant rotates. :)

Biergarten is also another GREAT option for kids. I do think there are plenty of options for kids that are less than adventurous eaters. If you are able to catch the show, it's fantastic. The one man is great on the Glockenspiel. I think I remember our server saying they preformed about every hour or so. But the show didn't last very long. :sad1: If I remember right, it was about fifteen minutes long or so, but.. I could be wrong. We had ADR's for 6:30 and the show started at 7:00, I believe. I think this is fun for the whole family.

Like I said, these meals are VERY different. If you think your daughter would like to see the characters more, definitely try Garden Grill. Besides 'Ohana, this is our favorite character meal. Good luck to you! :goodvibes

ok haven't ate at Biergaten...but have at Garden Grill...food was ok...the steak strips were good...but honestly I wouldn't go again..it was cute to see Mickey in his farmer outfit..but I've been dying to get into Biergaten and probably won't till next year now.

but just based on my experience I would NOT do Garden Grill...and I don't really like Family style eating.
