We decided to change our Epcot ADRs around and now we are going to Biergarten for dinner.

My daughter is five and I wanted her to have a new experience. While I am sure that the Mexican, hibachi, and pizza (yum!) are all VERY good, she has never seen anything like the music and dance found in Germany. The decor is very charming as well!

Tell me more about your experiences!

We went to Biergarten for the first time last year when mine were 7 and 5, and they loved it! There was plenty on the buffet that they enjoyed- sausage, Mac and cheese, spaetzle, salad, pretzel bread, schnitzel, etc. But the show was their favorite thing! We sat right next to the dance floor, and they wanted to dance more than eat! I think it is a really fun atmosphere that all ages can enjoy.

Our Ratings of Biergarten: (*rev 06/21/14*)
. . . food price value: C
. . . food quality: B
. . . food quantity per serving: A
. . . food prep speed: B
. . . food selection: C
. . . seating quantity: B
. . . seating comfort: C
. . . eatery atmosphere: B
. . . eatery convenience: B
. . . staff friendliness: C
. . . staff attentiveness: B
. . . characters: B (entertainment, not characters)

Our Recommendations:
. . . appys:... Tomato Salad, Wurst Salad
. . . entree:.. Sauerbraten, Beef Rouladen
. . . dessert:. Bavarian Cheesecake (!!!), Black Forest Cake

NOTE: Seating is on long beer-hall tables, so other families will be seated with you.
Although entertainment at lunch and dinner, the dinner show is far more fun. At dinner
you get more Oom-Pah music and dancing, and chances to be chosen to participate.
Though WDW likes to Americanize its food, Biergarten remains authentic. Good & above
average German comfort food. The "beer hall" tables mostly have 8-seats, but there
are 3-seat and 4-seat tables along the upper mezzanine wall. In all cases, tables are
pretty close to each other, thus access is tight when standing up. There are minor
differences in food from lunch to dinner.

We went for the first time about a month ago, and our girls actually asked us why we had been "depriving" them of this experience all these years (to be fair, they are only 9 and 12, but have been to WDW several times). They absolutely loved it, as did my wife and I. She actually had a bad experience there as a child, which is why we had been avoiding it, but she finally gave in when some friends wanted to go, and she thoroughly enjoyed it.

There is plenty of food available that isn't necessarily "German" and I would imagine your five-year old could enjoy both the food and the atmosphere quite a bit.

Biergarten seems to be one of the handful of restaurants that pulls both great and horrible reviews, so be ready to hear some of both...but I'd tell you to go for yourself and enjoy!

DH's favorite eatery is Biergarden! Admittedly it's probably the beer..... we like it because of the atmosphere, oompa band and the food.

The cauliflower soup, pretzel bread, roasted chicken and pork shank, so good :cloud9:

We love the Biergarten! I had planned on all new restaurants to try on our upcoming trip but my DH and my Dad (coming with us) both requested the Biergarten so that will be our only repeat.

I think the soups change sometimes but I am hoping that they have the Cauliflower soup, that was really good when I was there last.

Lots of options for everyone, even picky eaters and the entertainment is good.

Love the food and variety! The show is a bonus to add to the delightful atmosphere we have always experienced.

We went to Biergarten for the first time on our last trip, and it was the one place that DH and DD's unanimously voted to return to on our next trip. The food was great...even my picky DD went back several times. We sat with a great family that we enjoyed talking to. And the entertainment was wonderful. Plus, we have really good mexican, Japanese hibachi and pizza at home, but nothing like this. I would definitely recommend it.

Biergarten is one of our must do's every trip! It's so yummy and we enjoy the whole experience - meeting new friends at the shared table, the music, servers, décor, etc. I definitely recommend it!

Does the band have a set performance schedule? Wondering if we should book our reservation with that in mind and, if so, how much time should we allow before they perform? Thanks!

Tried it in October (13) for the first time and everyone loved it! Food was great, and the atmosphere was so much fun! Our girls had a great time and really enjoyed the band, and the show was wonderful. Definitely a repeat for our next trip! I would make your ADR around the show times, so you can get the full experience.

We love it there. I was in heaven with the potato salad. Tasted just the like the potato salad my Oma made when I was growing up. Having been raised on German food, I thought many of the items were very authentically German. Some were americanized.

We're unfortunately skipping it this year (the kids are less in love with it, haha) but it's on the list for sure for next time!

Yes they have a schedule, and we sure love to plan our meal time for during the show.

Best site I know of for EPCOT entertainment schedules :http://wdwent.com/EPCOT.htm,
it's has always updated and current every time I've checked.
Hope you have a magical time!

I have always hated (or thought I hated) German food...and I ADORE Biergarten! I could live on the spaetzel and meatballs alone!

"I don't like German food", either. This thread is sure intriguing me, though! Dang EPCOT, so much to eat, so little time!

We go to WDW a lot and I always make it a point to try new restaurants when we go. This past March, it finally came to a point where the last restaurant we hadn't tried was . . . Biergarten. I had been putting it off because I am not a fan of German food. We went and it was great! Biergarten where've ya been all my life! Everything was good and my DS was in heaven with pickles and pretzel bread. The band was fun and the atmosphere was great! Go Biergarten!!
