Biergarten pics?

Hi KMK -

If you check out my pics on Facebook - prnceskmw there as well - we have a lot from Biergarten in May 06. This was a trip with my family my first year out of college. My Dad LOATHES WDW (yes, it is possible) but he actually really liked Biergarten, and in fact still talks about it.

There aren't any pics of the actual buffet, but if you are a salad type family I wouldn't recommend it. This is brats, other assorted sausages, sauerkraut, dumplings, schnitzel, strudel for dessert, etc. If you don't want a ginormous mug of beer, the German wine flight is quite good.

Thanks for giving me an excuse to finally get some pictures on the FB page!

You never know - the dining plan has been very popular, so the sit-down restaurants have been lots more busy. This time of year, you can probably get in by just making a reservation the morning of. But you say several weeks - if you are going in March during spring break, for instance, I would definitely make a reservation. I have been there before when they wouldn't even put your name on a waiting list because they were so full. So if you have your heart set on it, you need to get a reservation.

The food there is very authentic to food you would get in Germany, including the salad selection. If you are used to a typical American 'salad bar' you will not find that here, instead you get a variety which includes cold mixed meats, cucumbers in sour cream, stringed vegies, etc. If you have ever been to Germany and ordered a 'salat' you'll know what I mean.

If you are not used to typical German food, you should be at least a little 'adventerous' to try Biergarten.

I love it because my Grandmother only knew German cooking, and going to Biergarten is like going back to her table. :goodvibes
