Biergarten or Hoop De Doo

We have been to both and enjoyed both but our kids liked HDDR more. They loved the show (did not stop laughing) and the food.

Will you have a car? I believe I've read that getting to/from the HDDR can be challenging on Disney transportation.

We've gone to HDDR both with and without a car and we thinks its easier without a car. From your resort just take a bus to MK and jump on the boat to Fort Wilderness and the show is right there.

If you drive you have to drive to Fort Wilderness and park in a front parking lot. You then have to get on the right bus to take you to the show - there is no parking lot near the venue

Buffets run around $30 plus tip, plus alcohol. HDDR is around $55, including food, alcohol and tip and has a great show with it. I consider it one of the best bargains on property.

Me too. You get the all you care to eat family style meal, unlimited drinks (including beer, wine, and sangria) and a full stage show. The stage show alone could cost almost $50.00 anywhere else.

I have not seen the show so I am not going to say anything about the show,I trust your comment. But 25$ per person? I can goto a Fantasmic dinner for minus the 25 extra. True you have to get up and walk there, but still for all the money you pay you would think they would trow In the show.Yhats ok,If I seen It I probaly would say the same, thanks for your Insight:)

The difference is the the cost of Fantasmic comes out of park admission tickets. That's not true for HDDR. Someone has to pay for it and it wouldn't be right for it to be the people staying at Fort Wilderness

Hoop!!! My 5 year old DS LOVED it last year! We went on our arrival night. It was the the perfect way to start our vacation. :thumbsup2

Biergarten is my absolute favorite place. But, I go there for the food and not so much to be entertained. If you're asking for your kids - take them to Hoop Dee. But, if you ever get the chance go to Biergarten have the Bavarian Cheesecake first!

My kids prefer the food at HDDR over Biergarten. I think everyone should do HDDR at least once. It's a fun experience!

HDDR will be a home run for your kids. Food is good basics (fried chicken, ribs, salad, corn, baked beans, corn bread, strawberry shortcake) that have broad appeal and are good (and unlimited). The show is the real star though.

Foot-stomping fun from the very beginning. Either the first or second musical number is a song called "That's where they come from" and involves incorporating the names of audience members' home towns. Lots of schtick, some good banjo and piano playing, even some nice poignant moments (I admit to getting a little sentimental hearing the strains of "Shenandoah".) followed by a cute story line about Davey Crockett.

Is it pricey? Yes. Is it worth it? You bet. My DKs were 5 and 7 their first time and they loved it! Now they will be 13 and 16 for our 2010 trip and the first ADR on the family planning board? The Hoop Dee Doo Revue!

After reading this I am thinking we need to add HDDR to our plans. Can someone that has used the DDP to go answer a question for me.

It says tier 2/3 seating at 5pm and 7:30pm and teir one seating at 9:30pm are available with the DDP.

How are Teir 2/3 seats. Our kids are 4,5,7 and I really hate to spend 2 credits per person on just OK seats that they will not enjoy as much.

As long as you are not up on the balcony your kids will enjoy it. I was on the balcony and there is no room for kids to get up and dance.

If your doing the DDP at a 5pm or 7:30pm show you ahve a huge chance of ending up in the balcony. YOu can olny book Tier 2 and 3 on the DDP. Teir 3 is all balcony and half of 2 is.

Can you see from the main floor tier 2 (little kids). Really no room for a 4/5/7 year olds to dance in the balcony?
