for a buffet??

I am digging the lower price on the BG because we are not on the DP...and we are already doing a character meal at CP one day...and I think DH would like the German foods (his ancestory)....and they DO have mac n cheese for kids, so what do you all think??

and is LeCellier a MUST do??

I am just trying to get my ADR's in line...is it a family place or not so much?? Opinions on that too please!!!

I may make two ADR's fpr EPCOT but I am just not sure right now!!

thanks!

here are my places so far:

Crystal Palace
50's PT Cafe (we tried Sci Fi last time and liked it but we want something new this trip!)
Le Cellier maybe
Biergarten or GG

and what do you think?

Chef Micks or 1900 Park Fare?? We have done CM and although we LOVED it I think 1900 since we have not been there...

any opinions appreciated!!

thanks

I love Biergarten. Garden Grill is family style and there isn't a thing there that my dd would eat so we haven't done it. But, the Biergarten has lots of stuff to choose from and lunch is a really great deal. Not to mention the band is great as well. I think you will enjoy it.

Le Cellier is family oriented, but it might not be as fun as Biergarten for the kids.

I would go with 1900 if you've never been there - I'd do a late breakfast maybe to keep down the cost. I have a 10:50 breakfast reservation there in April and I think that is the latest seating for breakfast.

i'd vote for biergarten - food is good and there is plenty to choose from - good chicken soup, a lot of salads (many are vinegar based but they do have a "ranch" dressing for the salad), a small assortment of cheeses; they have chicken, sausage/hot dogs type sausages, kraut, spaetzle, etc....there are several desserts that are tasty
the band is fun and the atmosphere is lively - our kids have always enjoyed -then you can walk around the showcase and catch the fireworks or even walk out of the international gateway, stroll over to beach club for an ice cream, walk around the boardwalk and come back for the fireworks

le cellier is good but not "fun" - just a good restaurant

have a great time!

I still have no idea what to do about the ADR's

so much easier when I had free dining!! :rotfl2:

Garden Grill get's my vote.

Garden Grill is very good...the whole family enjoyed it on our last trip (Nov '04), but I absolutely love Biergarten. I will say the rest of my family (wife and three kids) thought it was okay. But I'm of German ancestry and just thought it was excellent. I lost count of how many trips I made back to the roast pork....stopped counting at 47! :)
As for LeCellier, by Disney standards, it's definitely one of the more "grown-up" restaurants, but also one of our favorites. We're headed back in August. The last time we were there was '03 when kids were 14, 10 and 6 and they all enjoyed the food very much.
As for Chef Micks/Park fare debate, is it for breakfast or dinner? We love Chef Micks for breakfast...the insanity is part of our "first morning" tradition. Never been there for dinner -- the reputation is so-so.
Park Fare we like for both breakfast and dinner. Don't think you or the kids would be disappointed for either meal there.
Have fun -- and remember, whatever you choose, you'll love it!

GG is very good but, Biergarten is probably my favorite restaurant at WDW. DW and I love it and took DFIL and DMIL there this past November....they were leary as they have never been big on German food...it ended up being their favorite meal of the trip and later in the week they even discussed the option of going back. :wave2:

Can I ask a totally unrelated question? The countdowns you use -- they are all from ticker factory dot com. Does the disboards itself do it anymore? Can't find info on this website.
Thanks!

of the two I would have to choose GG...we ate at BG Friday night (working on my reviews in my trip report) and DH is of German descent as well...he really didn't care for anything and he's the one who picked the place!

We're trying Biergarten for the first time on our July trip. I booked it because it looked like fun for the kids.

1900 Park Fare is a very good buffet and it's the only place you get to see Cinderella and Prince Charming together! Plus it's a lot less expensive than CInderella's Castle. Have fun deciding.

and thanks for all the responses!! who knows what I wind up doing!! LOL

It was sooooooo much fun planning during FREE dining!! I did not care about prices and all that jazz...this time is different but that is ok, I am kind of excited to try the world without a lot of meal planning and stop and wait and have a two hour meal anyway so we shall see!!
