Please tell me if you liked the biergarten in germany for dinner, hows the food, atmosphere etc. Also do kids like it. Can you get beer in litre steins? Thanks for youre help

A HUGE thumbs up from our family!:thumbsup2 we go every year and enjoy something new each time. Variety of foods at the buffet--something for every taste, pickiness, etc.--allearsnet.com will have a complete listing-- and the wine and beer are wunderful wunderful (be careful, we learned years ago the huge beer and hot Florida sun and 10 more hours to go in the day do NOT mix:scared: ). There is a staged entertainment every 30 minutes or so and it truly feels like you are in an outdoors German biergarten. It's probably the one place at WDW where you could sit for hours and not be bothered or feel rushed. At college, my DS is learning to play one of the long "alpine horns" used in the show, so he'll have something to talk to the musicians about after their set. Staff is very approachable and friendly (mostly college-age german kids). I say TRY IT!

My wife and I love the Biergarten. The food, atmosphere, and beer are always worth the visit. I always feel great hoisting one of their liters of beer. Don't forget to try the sauerbraten, it's very good.

I have been to WDW nearly 20 times in my life, and ate the Biergarten for the first time recently. I kept avoiding it, thinking we wouldn't like the food. Boy was I wrong! It was alot of fun, and the food was great! My kids had a great time, and even asked for us to dine there again this year. Go and enjoy!:thumbsup2

The Biergarden is a DNM (do not miss) when our family visits WDW. We usually eat here for lunch on our first full day at the resort. Don't miss the apple strudel with the vanilla sauce!

This is a must do for us every trip. My kids even ask to go there. The food is good & the entertainment is fun. You are seated with other people on tables of 8 so if you don't like eating with strangers then its not for you.
We have always had nice people to chat with at out table.

I think the quality and service has dropped within the past few years. We will continue to go as it is a tradition, but if it is bad on our next trip, we will not return and find another "tradition" restaurant. :)

Must do for me and DW every trip as well, although i think i like it more than she does. German food, and giant beers! What's not to love!

Bad to us, did not like the way they sit people.

We tried it for the first time in December and will be going back again next week. We all enjoyed it. :thumbsup2

We have an ADR in May with another family of four and from everything I've read on the disboards, I think it's going to be great! But I have to ask, what exactly is sauerbraten?

Biergarten is a great buffet. Plenty to choose from so there's something for everyone. They also put on a nice show during the meal. The only caution I would offer is to keep in mind that you will be seated at a table with total strangers, so if your not comfortable with that it may take away from your enjoyment. We have sat with folks who said hello when we first sat down and never said another word for the rest of the meal and conversly we've sat with people who talked non stop from start to finish. So you do take sort of a risk.

DH and I have eaten here twice. We love the atmosphere and the buffet. We've gotten seated with really friendly people both times that we've been.

I agree, love the Biergarten! :thumbsup2 We're going next trip for sure!

BTW does anyone remember how much the beers are? we'll be on the DDP & I know that will need to be OOP.:goodvibes

I only have one major problem with the Biergarten, it is too far away from my house :lmao: .
I love it and it is a must do on every trip. Actually we have more like 2 visit per trip minimum. Only 355 days until we eat there again.

We were just there in December. We absolutely loved it, especially dd3. She loved the music and dancing and even got to light the Christmas tree! The food was wonderful. DH did order a beer, I can't remember the exact price but I am pretty sure it was around $8 or $9.

Another positive vote. :thumbsup2 It's one of our family favorites. Last time our kids were 13,11, & 5. They loved the band and the food! You will enjoy it!

We just ate there last June. The atmosphere was fun and the food very good. Especially the yummy desserts.
