Hi all

Can anyone give me any reviews and pictures of Biergarten in Germany please (I love me some food porn!!)? I've never been, but a recent review has piqued my interest!!!! I only have two months left to pick all my ADR's!!!:rotfl2:

Fun atmosphere though perhaps not for the terribly introverted as folks sit together at long tables (we're a family of 5 and we had two other groups at the table)...great time if you like to meet people! We're usually pretty quiet but the giant libations helped us over the "shy" speedbump rather quickly! So much so, in fact, that my DH left our camera behind that day....oops...which we were able to retrieve the next day at lost and found over by the TTC/Kennel...fun little side trip...
It was an interesting buffet - we all found plenty we liked (even the kids) and the entertainment was first rate (especially after those giant....) :rotfl:
We'd go back (and try not to forget anything) again! (at least we remembered all the children:scared1:) Funny - you'd think we'd have pictures...maybe the waitress erased them for us ... :rolleyes1

It sounds great! Do they seat people on one table at the same time, or will everyone be at different stages in their meal on the same table?

And it is now a MUST DO on our trips- perhaps the favorite of all so far

The atmosphere is ALOT of fun and the ambiance of feeling you are outside in a traditional biergarten.

The food is plentiful and alot of Traditional Fare

The few times we have been its always been where the tables were sat at or very close to the same time so that its not too awkward of having people constantly getting up and down during your meal (besides the buffet refills of course)

I would HIGHLY recco for this one though!

I was very disappointed on our trip in October. Perhaps I was expecting too much based on all of the reviews here. We waited 45 minutes to check in (the line was ridiculous) and than probably another 30 to be seated. Once we were escorted into the restaurant, it was less than half full. It was, by far, the longest wait past our ADR.
I was disappointed in the buffet itself. I did not think the food was very good at all. The schnitzel was chicken and it was very dry.
Although the entertainment was nice, I felt it was very short, I expected a longer "set".
Even with the large adults beverages, I will not hurry back.

We dined here on 1/20/10 and loved it. We went for lunch and the food was surprisingly very good. We especially loved the Bavarian Cheesecake dessert!

The entertainment was great and we found it hilarious to hear our 7 and 4 year old saying "ticky tocky ticky tocky hoy hoy hoy" to each other for the rest of the day.

This was a reservation that we almost canceled several times, and I worried about it even as we sat down that day. I am very glad that we kept it, and we plan on returning on our next trip.

If you have a very good German restaurant where you live, or you cook German food yourself, you will probably be disappointed.

The chicken schnitzel is not very good, and I make a better German potato salad and spaetzle too.:rolleyes1
But, the pretzel bread, :goodvibesthe other meats, sides & desserts are pretty good.
And you won't have to beat your veal paper-thin :headache:and stand over a hot stove frying it, or steam your fingers :scared:making spaetzle, so I consider it a good trade-off:thumbsup2

Plus, the entertainment is great and the kids will love doing the chicken dance...:rotfl:

We LOVED Biergarten, we stayed for over 2 hours on our trip in October! I didn't take food pics (I have no idea where my brain was!) but I did get some shots of the inside and the show...

This says it all- my dd turning 8 on our next trip wants to have her birthday meal at Biergarten! The food is amazing(love the chutneys they serve with the meats), and the entertainment is soooo fun. At one point they have you hold up your mug and shout "oy,oy,oy!" That's my dd7's favorite part! We all love the tradition that is Biergarten!:lovestruc

We (DH and I) just ate at this one in December for the first time. We both actually really enjoyed it...the food is really pretty good and it is pretty authetic German fare. Some things are very different, but that is what we love about Disney...you can try all sorts of stuff you maybe normally wouldn't.

We were there for lunch...and were seated with awesome view of center area where entertainment is. It is quite good!!

You are seated at tables with our guests...so if that bothers you...this place may not be for you. We were seated with two other couples...and it was nice conversation...and we had an enjoyable visit!!

GOOD LUCK!!

We had lunch at the Biergarten last November and loved it. Had a good view of the stage and we were seated at a table for 8 with some very nice people. The chicken schnitzel...blah, no taste, but loved the pretzel rolls and potato leek soup especially, as well as the cheesecake. There's also a small serving of fruit compote among the dessert selections which one of our tablemates advised us to pour over the top of the cheesecake....YUM! We had no problem at all with our ADR, we were seated a few minutes past the time. The Biergarten is now one of our "must do" restaurants. :)

We ate there for the first time this summer and made an ADR for our next trip too! We loved it! I'm a very picky eater but because it was a buffet, I was able to see some things I would eat. We are pretty "keep to ourselves" people so the strangers at our table was a little weird, but like a pp said, the drinks helped!! I think they were seated just a few minutes before we were. If you are paying out of pocket, you might want to book a lunch ADR. I think the buffet is pretty much the same but there is a significant price increase for dinner.

Anyway, onto the pics!

The food is pretty good and the atmosphere is fantastic. The make or break of your experience at Biergarten is who you sit with. If you sit with people who like to have a good time, it makes the experience even that much better. If you sit with a family of stiffs who don't say a word and make the rest of the table uncomfy it may leave a sour taste in your mouth.

I've been 3 times. The first 2 it was good. This last time I got my money back. The food was old and hard. The rouladen was horrible. I've been to Germany many times and love rouladen. But, this stuff was just wrong. The schnitzel has been changed from veal to chicken and it's tough, old and dry. The pretzel bread was great. The beer made my night. Our table mates from Illinois were lots of fun. But, I'm done and probably won't go back. I think I'm learning my lesson about buffets in general.

We have been there many many times, even way back when it was a menu order restaurant. In the last 9 years that it has been a buffet the food is always the same and always wonderful!

Put me in the bad schnitzel category too. We won't go back. I felt it was overpriced for what you get.
When we got there we found out there were steps and you had to go up and down them to get to your food. DH is disabled (uses an ECV and cane) and this was a no-go. So when we got inside and saw the set up I requested a table up top. They made a big deal out of having to "change" our table (we hadn't even been seated yet). We had an early reservation (like 4:20 or something obscene) and no one was in the restaurant. Then they made a big deal that even though DH is disabled as he is able to transfer we might have to move if they need the table. :confused3 WHAT THE HECK!!! When we left, the upper tables were filled with able bodied people. We did not see one wheelchair in the entire place so it wasn't like they were holding them out for only the disabled.

Anyway, food was just okay. I've had a lot better. Took a long time for the entertainment to start so we were finishing up before they even started. Our table mates were fine so that definitely didn't play into our opinion. We won't go back. Even the desert was bland to us. And we were really looking forward to it. :sad2:

Think a German village during Oktoberfest, but inside. It's got festival table seating, so you MAY end up with other people. We always travel big, so we don't have that problem. There's a German oompa band and a dance floor. A german food buffet and 1L steins of delicious German beer. But really the atmosphere is what does it. The village houses and the festival atmosphere. It's a must for our family. The children love it, the grand parents love it, we all love it.

We love German food. I have never had bad time here. We plan on eating here in Jan.

We are eating there for the first time in April and I"m soo excited to try it! Does anyone have a picture of the alcohol menu or where I can find it? I looked on allears, but they don't have it listed there. I want to check out what beers they offer. I love German bee!!! :cool1:

We love, love, love, love it.:lmao:
One of our must dues every time we have gone to WDW (since 94).:)
Never had a bad meal.:rolleyes1
