Can someone explain to me why it's important (to her) to use her link? Does she earn money or gain a commission from this somehow?
I think that's exactly why it's important to her.

Say what you want, but Biddingfortravel.com has been a very useful tool that has saved our family money over the years that in turn has allowed us to afford special getaways and even vacations to Orlando.
Sheryl does seem to run a tight ship but it does help, as it does with any forum including this one, if you read the Sticky and FAQ first before just posting away.![]()
Yes.
I have no problem with the administrator pushing the use of sites that help them fund thier websites... those things cost money.
However, you get more flies with honey then vinegar something BFT fails to understand.
And she has banned so many people it's hard to imagine she actually has good data anymore.
Betterbidding.com does ask you to use thier links for the same reason but they don't hunt you down. (Sherly actually tries to find posters on other message boards to YELL at them. She has been banned from several travel boards for this habit)
'
Betterbidding.com also has a really cool calendar feature I find useful!
I am a former moderator over at BFT (years and years ago) and I used to feel the same way you do. Sheryl *does* run a tight ship and the FAQs, rules and bidding forms are there for a reason. It not only makes it easier for the mods to give accurate advise, but it also involves the bidder in the process and helps them learn and understand how to bid and re-bid properly. It's the difference between giving a man a fish and teaching him how to fish. Many people just want to be given the fish on a silver platter and don't want to put any effort into learning how to fish themselves.Say what you want, but Biddingfortravel.com has been a very useful tool that has saved our family money over the years that in turn has allowed us to afford special getaways and even vacations to Orlando.

When I first started internet, I found a Disney board. I was still lurking when I saw someone post about another site where all the posters were so horrible, blah, blah, blah.
Finally someone named the site (it got deleted).
OF COURSE I had to go check that site out.
It was the DIS. And I found that there was much more info and all the questions got way more answers.
Now I have to go check out biddingfortravel.
This is the biggest issue with Sheryl's inability to play well with others. Her data, which is what she is selling, becomes stale because she intimidates those who might post results (but never do because she is mean and rude) and bans many of those who post results anyway.I have used both, Bidding for Travel and Better bidding.. I like Better Bidding a little better since it seems to have more updated info.. just my opinion. I have never had a problem with either of the sites or those who run them. I have been using them on and off for years...
