Biblical Theme Park / Museum

Hi

Does anyone know anything about a Biblical theme park / museum somewhere in Orlando?

My parents are going to WDW next Jan but as they have already been a few times before, they are looking for something different, and have heard about a Biblical theme park or museum or something?

Anyone know anymore about this?

Yes, its called The Holy Land Experience. Not sure where it is but in my guide book it has a web link at holylandexperience.com so it might be worth a look. I had thought about going to it but thought that a musical re-enactment of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus was just a bit much for me!

Hope your parents have a fab holiday in Florida, we're off in a few weeks (our first time) and we're so excited!

Wow - that does sound a bit much.
I would say there's no need to go there for first visit.
You will have plenty of other stuff to see for your first time.

We passed it a few times when we came out of Universal the wrong way. It is North of Universal studios.

I took my mum to the holyland experience in 2003, and she really enjoyed it. If your a christian like my mum you will probably enjoy the experience. There's lots of bibical theatre shows and even a cinema with a regilious film showing - its only about 20-25minutes long.

The holyland experience is just pass the milliena mall. I would say if your looking for something different then it worth a visit.

The place itself isnt for me, but I did read something interesting recently about its tax status. I think it just won its case for the actual entire theme park to be recognised as a church, and therefore it doesnt pay tax.
The other theme parks are annoyed about this, they contend it isnt a church atall, its a theme park with fee paying entrants.
As I understand it, if the case had gone the other way, they would have owed millions and the park would have closed.

They aren't really christians but my Dad is really interested in all the biblical stories and history.
