Is it worth it? The princess makeover? My daughter is 5 and loves princesses. Does it take long? What package would you recommend? Some seem awfully pricey!
I really want to do the Castle package but just can't believe it's $198.00. Close to $100 would be expensive but would be considered a splurge. $200 is just crazy.
Can someone explain why it would take 2 hrs? I did Bibbity on the Disney Cruise and it was about 30 minutes for make up and hair. Then the princess thing can't be more then 20 minutes. Why did it take 2 hrs? That's a big chunk out of a day with smaller hours.

Do they have Elsa as a theme now? Also what princesses are in the Royal Court? Do they mix them up or always the same?
I will go against the consensus here and say that I do not find value in BBB. DD7 has been dressing up at the parks in Disney Princess dresses (some from Target, some from DL), Nightmare Before Christmas outfits, Disney tutus, etc. since she was an infant but even considering all of the $$$$ we spend on each trip I cannot justify even the makeover at BBB. It does seem to be gaining popularity though and DD has always been covetous of that pink sash! I noticed a couple weeks ago that they now sell the pink sash (approx $8) and the tiara (approx $12) in the store. I bought her the sash and she was in hog heaven. She was also really into the false hair with the white and blue streaks they put in the BBB hairdos so she's saving her money to buy it next trip. They sell that in the shop as well. It is very, very easy to dress your princess up without the time suck and cost of BBB. Almost every girl already has several Disney Princess dresses at home, or they can be picked up very cheaply at Target or authentic Parks dresses are cheap on ebay, usually including the shoes, crown, etc. Take along hair accessories to fit the dress she will wear, like a bun sock, bobby pins, ribbons, crown, and do not forget to take glitter hairspray! If you're not great at princess hair youtube is your friend! Pale, glittery makeup is icing on the cake. It takes us about 10 minutes do do her hair in the room; if we're in a hurry in the morning we'll fix her up on our afternoon break if she wants to. I am explaining all of this - though it seems common sense - because the comments read to me like people think that if they say "No" to BBB or don't go all out for the surprise of BBB, that their little girl's entire trip and possibly childhood might be ruined. Your girl will have a wonderful time at DL no matter whether she gets the Elsa dress and makeover at BBB, runs around in her torn Belle dress and flip flops from home, or wears her comfy, cute, regular ol' clothes.
absolutely!!! every family should consider budget and what they value. and of course she will have a great time at DLR no matter what!!!I completely agree about the fact that our DD6 will have an amazing time with or without BBB.... It is an extra treat that we splurge on because of how it makes us and DD6 feel, and the joy and satisfaction we get while watching our princess enjoy her transformation. We would never consider doing it more than once per trip either... It is one day...the rest of the time she wears those torn dresses from home, the logo'd t-shirt etc.
Everyone has a budget and everyone has the things they splurge on.... It is up to you what that is. Ours is BBB and our daughter rather than expensive meals, character meals or tours. It is this (BBB) experience, at this time, that matters most to us!
