Bad mom here- waited too long to call to make a reservation for Nov 14 or Nov 15! My DD5 will be so sad. Wondering if the mermaid makeover is worth it or if I should hold out hope for a cancellation and keep trying to call...

I would make the pirate league reservation so you have something. Then keep trying BBB. There are always cancellations. Did you try both MK and DTD. My DD did the DTD BBB and loved it. She didn't even know about the castle one and I could only get her in DTD but that was back in 2012. good luck .

I would also suggest trying the DTD location for times...DD liked doing that as she didn't have to worry about riding the rides in her full outfit...Splash Mountain would have ruined all the work.

My daughter's done both and enjoyed both.

The mermaid package is awesome, but your DD will need to able to sit still for a long time. It takes quite a while to apply all that make up. That said, my DD loved it, once it was done. She still wears the accessories she got with the package.

I'd book PL, then keep trying for BBB, if you want.
I think if I asked my DD, she'd rather do PL again, though.

Make the one at DTD but keep trying for the one at MK. My friend was able to snag a cancellation at MK. She would check multiple times a day.

Thanks everyone! DTD was booked as well except for one time slot that was right before an ADR that we have... I think I will book the mermaid pkg and hope for a cancellation. She is VERY into the princesses and dresses up a lot at home, I fear that she would see the other girls walking around the park and want what they had instead of the facepaint and simple hairstyle that the pirate offers.

fingers crossed for you, it really is a special event for the young girls...the photos of our daughter (she did Belle at Christmas in the red dress) are some of our favorites...especially now that she isn't that sweet 7 year-old anymore but a moody teenager with hormones running amuck.

There is plenty of time and cancellations do come up. Book DTD or PL as a backup, then call every day. You'll get something.

The Mermaid Package does look interesting. I wonder if they do a photo shoot like they do for BBB?


We did BBB on our last trip, I think it would be neat to do something different.
