Hi everyone! I'm planning on applying to the CP for either Fall 2010 or Spring 2011- which is either the semester before or after I graduate. I would take almost any job because working at Disney sounds like an amazing experience, but working at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique would definitely be my #1 choice.

There just doesn't seem to be a lot of info on the requirements to be a cast member at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique (BBB). Also, anything I've found on here seems to be spread out among many threads, so I hope you don't mind me making a new one specifically for BBB.

- What type of experience is required?

- Do you have to have any type of hair or cosmetics licenses, work experience, or formal training in the field?

- Is there anything that I can do to increase my chances of getting a BBB position?

I worked as a piano teacher in an elementary school program for about a year, but that is really my only work experience (besides some volunteer work in HS). I play with my own hair (I can curl, straighten, braid, etc.) and makeup, but I don't really have experience doing it on other people.

As I said, I would LOVE to be a BBB cast member, but I don't want to get my hopes up too much. Any help is appreciated!

Thanks. princess:

I really really want BBB tooooo! But like you, I don't have any professional experience  I applied for it anyway and I'm hoping by some miracle I'll get it!! I'll let you know how it goes and if I find out any more info!

Okay so don't quote me on this... but From things I've read/heard about BBB Hostess is that you may not necessarily need experience with hairstyling or cosmetology. Essentially that it something they could train someone on. I think something that's probably essential to the role is experience working with children.

Again, I'm not a 100% sure, just my insight on the matter. It does sound like a fun role! Good luck ladies!

I want to apply for this role too.

I have heard that they look for salon experience and I remember reading somewhere that in someone's interview they asked if they had any salon experience and when she said no, they pretty much moved on to the next role...

I don't have any salon experience, but I have worked on makeup and hair for children for about 10 years. I used to teach dance, so about twice a year I did all of their hair and makeup for recitals, ages ranging from 3 year olds to 12. They eventually recruited me to do the hair and makeup for the little kids for ALL the shows just because I got so good at it. I'm thinking if I really emphasize that in my interview, I might have a shot... We'll see...

As a former BBB'er who was just re-offered the role, I'll be happy to answer your questions.

-Yes, hair styling experience is beneficial in general, but not necessary. (I had WIG styling and make-up experience as a costumer, but I had never worked on kids before.)
-You must be willing to work with kids for 30-40 minutes at a time in an ALL-FEMALE environment. (Seriously, there'll be maybe 1-2 photopass guys and Dads, that's it.)
-No formal training is required, but it can help A LOT in the decision process. (If you have a cosmetology license, mention it, but otherwise, you don't need it.)

You need to express...
-A love for working with children, especially little girls.
-The ability and DESIRE to create magical moments CONSTANTLY!
-Highlight any relative experience you have.
-Capable of working in an INTENSELY stressful/high-paced atmosphere!
-Capable of STANDING 8+ hrs a day!

....Please remember that this role is classified as a Merchandise position even though you'll NEVER receive register training as a part of it! With that said, you need to be able to answer some questions as you would in a retail environment while offering the FIRST CLASS Disney Guest Service!

Good Luck! :wizard:

I talked to one of my managers today about the boutique cuz of their EPIC COMB SHORTAGE OF 2009!

*ahem*

on to the subject, she said that basically the girls dont have cosmetology experience because they dont have a cosmetology license at the boutique, so if you dont have the experience, it isnt the end of the world for ya.

Hope I can help....I just was accepted for BBB today for Spring 2010....I dont have any experience (except for show choir and cheerleading) so keep hoping!!!!:thumbsup2

The BBB is one of my top choices. I would truly love it. I don't have any professional cosmetology or salon experience, but I have worked with children the past three years and have done make up for dance recitals.

Maybe having five younger sisters will help with this one :)
