I have two daughters 10 and 7 and neither of them are what you would consider girly-girls. They both love sports - they aren't quite tomboys, but close. I was looking into doing the BBB for my younger DD (7), when my DD (10) saw it and thought she might like to do it. Now, I about fell off the couch when she said that. She doesn't want to do the dress part of it, but thought the hair looked cool. Has anyone else gone through this with their daughter? I don't want to book it and then pay the money to only have her think it was a "not cool" idea...
Your thoughts would be appreciated.

I only have one daughter who loves this so I don't know exactly what you are goign through but I think that every girl no matter if she is girly or a tom boy likes to be pretty sometimes. Not too mention they do have other choices besdies the princess she may even lik ebetter.

I saw a couple of pre-teens while I was there that had their hair done but no costume. BBB has a style that that involves colored hair extensions that these girls got (goes with the Hannah Montana costume). I thought they looked cute.

I have personally done the BBB twice myself. It is tons of run. They do have a pop princess hair do that might be more up their ally. Maybe make your ressie's for a few days into the trip so that the girls can see other girls with their hair done and if they change their mind you could cancel without losing money.

That is a very good idea. I thought about making it for our last day at MK and if they decide to not to do it we would have time to cancel. It is a very good idea for them to see all of the other girls with their hair done so they can see what it all entails. We've watched some of them on YouTube to give them an idea, but in person is alsways a great idea.

Did this on our last trip in 2006, with daughters age 4, 9. They are sporty, but love getting there hair and nails done. We are planning on going in Oct for MNSSHP with DD7, DD12, and doing the BBB that day, the girls are so excited. It was one of our fav. memories of our last trip. Here is some pictures:

The hair is cool. (And at 10, she's still young enough to wear a dress if she wishes.)

I recommend booking this for her (if little sissy gets to, it's only fair). However, you might want to make some sort of agreement that she has to keep her hair in for a certain amount of time (and if they've pulled it too tight, she needs to speak up and tell the FGIT) and to speak up if there's something they can do to fix her hair to her liking.

We just did the basic package no dress for DD she was fine with it. She wore a sundress.

My daughter is going to experience this when we go to Disney and she is very excited. I think any girl will like it. They have things for your daughter age that I really think she will like.

My daughters are so not interested in this but the youngest is having her hair done at the Barber Shop in MK as she wants a trim while there and my almost 11 year old wants absolutely no one messing with her hair. She asked for it to be cut today but will wait until next week and have her aunt or dad take her while she is visiting them.
