Hello, my friends!

I am in need once again of your advice! On our last trip to Disney we visited the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and we absolutely loved it!! However, that was in the month of December (2006) and we were celebrating a birthday.

My youngest daughter recently turned 4 and "wants to get her hair done like Sissy did", as she was too young the last time. Grandma thinks it would be a waste because of the heat and humidity. (The last time my daughter was able to squeeze two days out of her new "do" ...)

As parents, what do you honestly think of having their hair done in the hot weather? :confused3 Would you rather put that money towards something else? My DH is of little help in this scenario.... you know always watching the budget!

If you think we should go for it, any recommendations?? Time of day, day of week, etc?

Thank you!

I'm curious about this also. I currently have an appointment for this Sunday at BBB in the castle but I'm really torn with just leaving her a crown, some nail polish and cheapo makeup as a gift from Tinkerbell and calling it a day. I could do all of that for under $15 and she wouldn't be so bothered with how hot it is.

My girls had the castle package done in May 07. It was hot hot hot and the weather couldn't penetrate the amount of gel/spray/goop! We also got two days out of it and the girls LOVED it. I would not worry about it and I would do it!

We did it last week (and it was HOT!). We didn't have any special occasion, and my DD's who are 5 and 3 just thoroughly enjoyed the experience. This was the first time they had their nails painted, first experience with make up, first time they really dressed up and they LOVED the pretend hair. It was a truly wonderful, joyful, magical experience. Their appointments were at 5pm in the DTD location. They got done, had their photoshoot so I will have the pictures and memories forever, they shopped a bit, they went outside in the now cooler evening and danced to the guy outside playing music, we went to dinner and had a truly magical evening. Then, before bed I took all the stuff out of their hair when I took their dresses off and washed it and they were fine with it. They were entirely too hot at the parks (it was close to 100 last week!) and they wanted to swim anyway the next morning. It was totally worth the experience for them and for us and we would do it again in a heartbeat. But walking around the parks with it...no way!

I would do it, they are only young once! My DD never complained about the heat, she was too excited to have her hair and makeup look like a princess! We usually take a mid-afternoon break and thats when we got her hair done, then she would wear it to the parks in the evening.

My DNeice 4 at the time, went to BBB on a very hot day. Smart little lady chose the Ariel costume which had a bare midriff tank top. My DSis said "Don't you want to be Cinderella?" The child answered "No way, mommy, its too hot!"

In addition to the Ariel costume, the Jasmine one also has a bare midriff top.:thumbsup2

The up-do actually kept her cooler since her hair was off her neck and face.

We made a appt at the BBB in about 2 weeks.

I too was worried about the heat so I decided to buy my DD a cute little princess sun dress. I think having her hair done wont be a problem because it will keep it off her neck. I was more worried about the itchy dresses. I guess we'll see

My DD has only done BBB in August...she did "Pop Princess" and it lasted 4 days (with a cap over it at bedtime)...I cannot tell you about the other dos though!

We went in Sept and both my DD refused to wash their hair for at least 4 days, one does like to get her hair wet and she had the updo and the base of it stayed (I had to repin and I did take the Tiara and clip out at night)even in the pool. My other dd got the pop princess hers was done in 2 days but with the lovely pink extensions you get you can recreate it. I do have to agree with the PP their hair gel spray they use is industrial strength. I recall it was pretty hot when we went the humidity didnt seem too awful but we did have lots of breaks. As far as the outfits, they each got one and one wore it just for MNSSHP but it was took hot for anything but shorts and a tshirt
