We have a late afternoon reservation at Downtown Disney and currently have the courtyard package chosen. I searched and didn't easily find solid answers to a few questions:

1. Does it often run late, especially for very late day reservations? Ours is around 4:45pm.

2. How long does it typically take for the courtyard package?

3. Should she come in her dress or can she change there? She wants to take the tee & tutu with her as a souvenir but wear a dress from home.

4. Is there a Photopass photographer in the salon snapping pictures during the process? I've read conflicting reports on it...

5. I understand we can walk her across to the photo studio and those photos can be added to Photopass - is there usually a long line for that? About how long do they spend taking pics?

6. Is there a limited amount of adults allowed in the salon with her?

We are trying to decide on evening agenda and want to make sure we are not rushed. Thanks so much!

Friendly bump for the evening crowd - hoping someone knows the answer to any of the questions (I know I have a lot - sorry!!)

I can try to answer your questions... We've only done BBB in MK though not DTD.

1. Depending on the time of year and how busy it is, I'm sure it could run late. We had a 345pm appt on a Sunday. The park was crowded, BBB was packed- we waited about 20 mins past appt time.

2. 30-40 mins

3. There are dressing rooms where she can change if she doesn't want to wear the dress there.

4. In MK there is, I don't believe there is one at DTD

5. No idea

6. We had 6 adults with 3 kids- no one said anything about a limit

Hope this helps a little!!!

We have done BBB at the castle and DTD, but at DTD was five years ago, so I am sure some things changed. We went in October during the day and there was no wait. My daughter wore her dress there, one less thing to carry, and she enjoyed walking around being called princess before we got there. At the time there was a display window that faced out into DTD, and that's where my daughter got to have her makeover! It was so wonderful, it was a private space with a couch for me, and she could see out into DTD and wave at everyone. She also had her own fastpass photographer taking her picture the whole time, we had so many great shots! There was another photographer in the store with the rest of the guests.

We did go to the photoshoot after, and there was a short wait. Personally, I didn't like those pictures. The lighting was bad, the poses stiff and unnatural, and the BBB hairstyles aren't the most flattering. Add to that the make-up that they get to pick themselves (blue eyeshadow for my DD) and it's just a mess.

We just had a 4 pm reservation at BBB in DD last week, so I can take a stab at these.
1. Not in my experience. We waited under 5 minutes.
2. We had the crown package but I imagine that would take the same amount of time. For us 30-40 minutes (30 min for my little one who had two ladies working on her, 40 min for my older DD had had only one).
3. We brought our dress so we wouldn't have to drive in it. There's a changing room in the store you can use. In Hindsight, I probably would've had them wear it there so I had one less thing to bring.
4. No! And this was such a disappointment. The area is tight with a round couch in the middle for parents. Without a photo pass photographer, all the parents were running about to get pictures, which made things pretty hectic.
5. Yes, we did those and only had one child ahead of us, so we maybe waited 3 minutes. We thought the pics were great, albeit a bit stiff with a stodgy blue background. But hey, I'll take a photoshot for "free" any day! ;-) it took under 10 minutes for both girls combined and we got about 35 images.
6. See #4. I'm not sure there was a limit but it was pretty crowded and I'm not sure I would want more than 2 adults per kid there just due to the confined space.

I have a BBB question and I don't want to start a new thread - we have a 11:30 reservation at MK for our 5 year old daughter and then a 1:00 lunch at CRT. She saw a disney commercial where a girl gets a tiara at CRT and we were going to order her one, but I think she gets one at BBB with the princess makeover. Is that the case?

They supply a crown (attached to a comb) that sits in front of the bun, and a jeweled mickey clip that goes behind the bun. Below is a pic of the crown.

I think the tiara only is given with the bun hairstyle though, so I would ask to be sure when you get there to make sure you select the right style if you'd like one included.
