BHphoto or adorama?

I am getting ready to purchase my first IS lens. Same one as Jann 28-135 I am hoping I don't run into the same problems she has.

Which online store has a better reputation/customer service/delivery?

Are they about the same or is there a noticable difference?

I have bought "lots" of photo equipment from B&H. They have a better customer service rating than Adorama, but you'd be OK with either.

I have very little experience with Adorama, only one order placed through Amazon. The order arrived promptly with no problems.

I have purchased a lot of items from B&H and am impressed with their service. Their prices may not be the best but that is not everything. If they say it is in stock, it *is* in stock and will be shipped promptly. Other sellers may be as good but I have no reason to switch and plan to stay with B&H.

i've bought from beach, buydig.com, j&r , nest (?) egg and amazon and not a problem with any of them. the only technicality might be beach buy dig and i think b& h close from afternoon Friday through sat or Sunday so you can't really order then ( i think you might be able to order online but it'll just sit there, don't recall now)

I’ve purchased many items from B&H with no issues.
Never used Adorama.

i have used both. they are both much cheaper than buying things here locally even with shipping. for me - being overseas, there is a lot of admin to verify card owner/address, etc. before purchasing... but after they're both easy to use. i probably use b&h more.

yeah and to add even more to the mix,like an idiot i forgot to copy down the dhl tracking number so i'll be worrying where in the world it's floating around unless canon can find it i'll have to call them monday

Bought lots from B&H - never had an issue. If it's a purchase with a bigger price tag, a rep might call you to verify you are who you say you are, and your credit card hasn't been stolen. This is a hassle free proces and legit - they don't try to upsell or bait / switch or anything else.

My favorite online store is B&H. I haven't tried Adorama but I haven't heard any bad about them either.

And if it's any help I have had the 28-135IS lens for 3 years and never had a problem. It is my main walk around lens so I use it all the time.

Also, did you know that Best Buy will price match from the web? We got the 28-135 IS for $299.00 at Best Buy by price matching.

wow! are you serious? That would be awesome. There are several Best Buys around here and it would save on shipping. I have wanted to go and look at the lowepro slingshot200 at Best Buy anyway - I could kill two birds with one stone.

Do you need to print out the price from the web? How does it work?

Also - where did you see it advertised for 299.00? The cheapest I have seen is 409.00.
