Is anyone planning to watch this new soap opera? I have watched all the cbs soaps since I was little, my gram used to have her stories on when I got home from school. I’m curious how a new soap starts, I may tune in.

A new soap opera? Isn't there only one, maybe two left? Is this a streaming thing, like maybe once a week, or like old school soap operas that were on five days a week?

It will be on cbs 5 days a week. I’m on the east coast. The line up is local news at noon. Young and the restless 12:30-1:30, Bold and the Beautiful at 1:30 and Beyond the gates will be on from 2-3.

The previews look SO soapy... overly dramatic and campy... I don't think I could get into it. That said, I do have the other 2 CBS soaps on for background noise while I work, so I may end up with it on.

I remember when Santa Barbara started, I watched from the beginning, and all 4 years it was on. It was kind of fun getting in at the beginning of it all. And really fun seeing Robin Wright in Princess Bride after watching her on the soap.

That's really surprising. Soap operas have been losing audiences and getting cancelled for several years now. Lately it seems like broadcast television is all but ready to turn the lights out and close the doors altogether.

It seems like several times a week there are more stories about networks and stations all over the country with anchors and other personalities "retiring" or jobs like weathercasters being taken over by the Weather Channel because nobody is watching anymore. Recently one of our local stations put their news website behind an ad wall -- after losing easily 10 on air anchors, reporters, etc. over the past year or so. Hard to believe a new soap is being launched in that climate.
